Hey, depends on the type of progressive u getting. Essilor ranges to a premium progressivr which csn cost 2k+ so u gotta see the type of progressive u are getting. Maybe u can ask him to show u the progressive price chart and ask him to discount further from there.

Did I kana carrot

I recently bought a pair of Silhouette with Hoya 1.53 lenses from Seng Li - located in Queensway for $480.

When I first collected it, and wore it, immediately I see a ring of rainbow like effect. I returned to the shop and the lady told me because of the clarity of the lenses and the well polished sides of the glasses that causes the reflection. I was told that the only option to solve the reflection problem is to matte the sides. I was reluctant to take that option because it doesn't sound right(to me) and also cos her attitude towards me was bad and unprofessional. Anyway, I agreed to matte it on the condition that they will re-polish it if I don't like the matte look.

Conclusion, upon my 2nd time collection. The reflection problem is gone but the sides look darn ugly. I was told that they cant do semi-polish, it is either 360 polish or Matte. Is it true?? Anyway, I reluctantly accepted and left. swore never to go back there again.

The whole experience was unpleasant and I feel that I got cheated for the fact that my lenses are just normal clear lenses. not even transitions. I almost gotten 2 pairs of glasses, thank god I didn't - after noticing that the prices they quoted me on 2 separate occasions differs significantly. - by a $100

YES DEFINITELY GOT HALF POLISHED. ITS THE BEST WAY IF U ARE SENSITIVE TO RAINBOW EFFECT. IF U WEAR PLASTIC FRAME THAT COVERS UP THE SIDE OF LENSES THEN NO SUCH PROBLEM.

PLEASE BEWARE. THERE ARE A LOT OF CON JOBS IN THE OPTICAL TRADES. ESPECIALLY WITH THE EXORBITANT PRICES WE ARE PAYING. REALLY UNFAIR AND UNETHICAL SOMETIMES. BUT THIS IS SG. WE JUST GOT TO PAY THE HIGH RENTALS.

Any recommendations for half frame specs under $600?

Oakley? Not enough budget for tag right?
