How long ago did you do the lenses? If less than a year, I would suggest you to bring it back to Nanyang.

At your own risk, try using isopropyl alcohol to clean, see if it helps. If you can't remove the dots, then likely the coating is affected - possibly some liquid droplets ended up on the lenses and was not wiped off fast enough.

Since Zeiss works well for you, go for it.

I've actually never washed my glasses with anything more than water
The " seirling the layer of oil in circles when u wipe" comment

You should see how I usually make my customers laughed when I used to rub my Teflon lenses all over my nose. Then clean off the oil with microfiber. :s12:

I only rinse my glasses to prevent residue dust from scratching them

But note. Frame wise I'm using Swiss flex. Rimless. Hardly any place for trapping dust / oil

End of the day oil I can't wash off with water is still safer than detergent I can't clean off in corners

If using dettol works for you go ahead but I don't see the need

CUT IT SHORT & SWEET. YOUR NOSE JUST NOT OILY ENOUGH LA.

It is impossible to satisfy every customer. ;)

I'm stumped here too - can't think of other causes. These dots usually result from some form of spray, e.g. hairspray, UV spray. Sometimes people leave it on the dressing table where the other half accidentally sprays something on it. :s13:

so even zeiss lens will have the dots cause my 3 glasses is together and the 2 with zeiss lens is not affected.

thanks for replying

Yea i think u got it bro. Go read up on zeiss coatings not play play gimmicks okie. Though sme brand advertise like mad but how gd can it be if its cheap right? Go for more ex brand like zeiss or hoya i gaurantee u no such problems. If got such problems with either hoya or zeiss u come back this forum and f me all u want. I will let u scold okie. Just ho grab yur zeiss la. But ofcos dont expect 100% scratchproof la. When i first collected mine i noticed 2 fine scratches but i ignored them. So far no problems and mind u, i wash with dettol habdsoap everyday even tried with Glo strong dishwashing liquid also no problem. Hoya brand also another stronger coating. Depends wat u like. I prefer zeiss now.

Hey guys, stumbled upon this shop at Wheelock called AI eye fashion. Saw the prices are decent and got my rayban there for $176 after 20% off. Opened by a old couple, very good service. Anyone been there before too? :D

I pour cooking oil and stir fry vegetables then clean with microfibre cloth, eh sai bo?

CUT IT SHORT & SWEET. YOUR NOSE JUST NOT OILY ENOUGH LA.

i have actually wiped machine oil off often( after using a lot and smearing all over the lenses from trying to get a screw out) . so the question really is the quality of the cloth and it's condition

Those are the customers who do not know stuff. There are always the catalogue book for branded lenses. For example ask for Zeiss catalogue book. NOT THEIR IN HOUSE BOOK. How to chop carrot this way? My grievance is not on the optical shop but on the lens supplier. Lens of similar brand similar design index are getting more ex for no justifiable reason. The reason optician can tell me is that they havent revise their px lists for a long time.
:s22: i just sold a lens a month ago, didn't use the new price list only checked after quoted price
turns out new price is higher since it's freeform now
........so far only 2 brands shooting up like rockets

red and blue parts don't make sense , isn't it higher after updating?

the spots looks like either left there by water droplets drying up(easily cleaned off)
or seem to have reacted with something to appear like that

generally it's some sort of chemical which ate into the lens and most commonly suspected is hair spray
