Seen a few hopeless cases in singapore. That's why I decided to leave.

Got a maid who came in with problems at the back of her eye. And she lost some vision. Told the employer to send her to the doctors. But they decided to send her back.

Another case was a construction worker with signs of a brain lesion. Asked him to go to the AnE but he was afraid of losing his job.

All of them didn't buy anything. Just helped them out of goodwill. We are halfway between sales and healthcare here in singapore.

Jaded by the actions of Singaporeans.

That's why I feel singapore optical should be revamped to include eye exams. Patients we referred should also be able to get subsidies. In today's setting, we have to refer patients to polyclinic and the GPs will then refer them to get subsidy. That's double consultation for the patients.

Not that I'm against the optical trade. But it can do a lot better than just plain hard selling.

told the employer to send to doctor, but who will pay if advance medical care is required? :s13:

if you've studied economics and how the economy works and what's "first world" you'll understand it's a zero sum game
for one people to enjoy life , they must outbid the said resources to another community , you cannot be rich together and share resources

the whole point of "rich" is to have more relatively compared to others

what if it's your maid and surgery is required? as a foreigner maybe she needs to do a $50,000
are you going to pay?
noticed how australians send their aged folks to home because that's where they can receive "the best quality of life"
for both sides

australia isn't first world because they were nice and kind to people, go read up on aboriginal treatment,

way way worse than anything here, the state sanctioned taking away kids from aboriginals

i freak out the first time somone said "hi good morning how are you!"

decided i can never stay there , culturally not very compatible
Well, melbourne is ranked world's most liveable city, but no one mentions that they have a very active gangster underbelly. In fact, it's all quite messed up there. 1 in ten Australians have mental illness. When i was young, I did regret not staying, but in the end, I grew to enjoy the simplicity that is Singapore.

There's a certain lawlessness and "wild " feeling about Australia

Being used to Singapore and her idea of "life " I'm unable to move anywhere else

I suspect China might be worse.

I was reading "Age of Ambition" and just by reading about it, I was thinking to myself that I would really not like to live there.

But how old are you? If you don't mind my asking.
