Recently Alain mikli also getting bad after the buyover. Stark eyes still going strong despite the buy over.
Don't know if people noticed.
the bad part, or what seem "bad" stems from the acetate, supposedly was "aged" before being used so the frames are made from a harder material .
nowadays it's much softer, likely the material is "fresh"
another thing would be the spring hinges, it used to be looser , the spring is harder these days ,
my guess is the manufacturer is using their own factories or other factories ? no info can't be sure
i'm into toy collecting, sometimes changing the factory due to cost can hurt QC standards
beyond these two points i do not see much differences, i think it's really what people expect from them rather than sliding standards. the differences are there but it's not a drastic slide.
starck is an ok frame but if say i were to step onto a super cheap nylon frame as opposed to a mikli/starck the nylon frame will survive better
so quality materials and workmanship is generally differently perceived
should glasses last longer because of the price?
most of the time we pay more for a lot of other stuff, silk dresses
electronics
you'll noticed even for cheaper brands of electronics they last as long
if properly designed .
no one is going to assume the silk dress last better than a t shirt
no matter the workmanship
