Thats why I said every staff shd have the professionalism in them to check. Simply said that shop don't meet the mark. So just avoid it in future. Very simple one haha. Even if u go new shop where they dunno u. Its thejr job to make things right for you or any customers. Thats how to do it from my opinion

Stinkyoldbread, correct me if im wrong, u are actually telling me i should just be easy and accept the flawed lenses with obvious scratches etc.

well :s22: considering how you are still calling names at your age

if you treat people offline the same way as online, you might even get sabotaged often . even if the boss wants your business the staff wouldn't

i wouldn't put it past the staff to actually not want to help you get things in order

as for your second line, my suggestion was since you're a difficult person, don't be a hypocrite and pretend you're not, just tell the staff so and keep them on their toes

when everything is on the table, it's easier to request for anything once the other side has agreed to your terms

YOu are indeed a luckier guy than me, mine 80% have problems. 10 years ago when quality is much better i have no such problems. I guess something to do with the growing population. Lastime not so many ple buying specs so they slowly do the lens properly. Now everywhere is rushing jobs for customers daily maybe one day lab need to rush abt few hundred pairs? Confirm anyhow do becos rush jobs. Else how to explain the problems?!?!?!

From now onwards, i must make a conscious effort to check my lens and frames properly at collection point and also not make full payment first. Pay 50% (mine is RX) then satisfactory then pay full.

i was there 10 years ago so I have no idea what quality you're talking about that's so much better
you would think old lenses really suck if you've been wearing the latest
products
I can still remember seeing my face out of the corner of my eyes because the lenses had no coating

standards have improved over the years , instead of selling product A and giving B
you get cards with your products and logos these days
I personally known so many cases of awesome carrot chops :s22:
in fact the chopping mostly happened 10 years ago . most are looking at price lists . carrot choppers have mostly retired
the majority of the staff know what they're doing instead of starting work blind
I had a guy who should have 17 years experience by now , writing the exact opposite prescription 10 years ago .

that optician said no lens will have 100% bubble free. quite true lar even best lens also will have one or two bubble, very heng then got none. u knoe nowadays v hard for me to get one with no scratches with no bubbles, v v rare unless those cheap lens.. what u mean by those scratches inside one is ok? u mean scratches inside coating can be seen meh how u noe?

:s22: because of what you just said i actually held a pair of zeiss 1.6 against and under light reflections to look for bubbles and scratches

non found , well one found but I cleaned it off with alcohol

lenses being plastic are clear because they're polished to clarity
if you magnify them by 15-20 times you'll be able to see the clearest lenses are covered with scratches , fine microscopic ones , nothing visible to the naked eyes

as for bubble i really think they generally are bubble free

what if likely the biggest reason might be your prescription

when one is suay, there is no hope becos even go to the recommended shop other ple do ok ok but i go suay suay kena probs one. Happened again and again, i think something to do with my destiny. Fated to live with substandards. Not say all 30 shops are lousy la. Just saying most jobs nowadays, my % higher maybe im suay. And i suspect not the shop staff mishandle the lenses, most likely its the lab people and mine is RX. Unless u tell me the despatch rider always road accidents whole package bump here and there and kena scratched lar, this i dunnoe alry. Otherwise it comes from the lab or lens supplier. not sure whether are scratches though look like so, becos its one bunch same line patterns on both lenses and occuring at same location, i mean how can scratches so uniform pattern and location? Im confounded!!! Unless its internal coating prob? Hard coat? AR coat? i dunoe where went wrong. Anyway too many coatings may not be a good thing. Cos the more layers needed to apply in the cleanroom, probably more prone to errors. Bubbles formation i can accept if not too many. One optician explained to me that tiny bubbles are unavoidable, im ok with that. But cluster of lines? Really cant take it. Its essilor crizal UV prevencia by the way. Not saying duravision is perfect, also has its problems too. cheaper lens seem lesser such occurence, maybe becos they have lesser coatings applied? i think decades ago those uncoated lens still the best. Missed those days!
other than the lab who's boss always threatens to give away his lab if you find a scratch, which I've avoided forever

I know of no other labs who repeatedly give bubbles and scratches

I've never said to anyone tiny bubbles are unavoidable . in fact it's part of the warranty if a defect if found

there's no such thing as less coatings, the adhesive/multcoats/clean-smooth coats are applied
no matter the brand

if the problem persists something must be a constant in your life and repeatedly causing all these .
cluster of lines do not happen under normal circumstances .
either you are exaggerating it or your circumstances in making glasses are creating the lines
if the same shop has other glasses in the shop without the lines . your circumstances are creating it and it's following you because it's not rectified

yea i dont really believe essilor but needed to try its range of prevencia lens cos i discover as i age my eyes are getting the strain from the bright lights and digital devices as well as i heard the thing about cataracts and AMD. Cheap local lenses i mean brands like KV, OSS< Hi Top etc if you know what i meant. Im no expert, im just an end user, you are the sexpert so you would know much better technically.

I resist telling ple i am a hard nut to crack becos when u say that i think the staff will try to avoid doing my business. Frankly, if the lens is all scracthed and they still dispenses to you, you call that difficult to please? I dont think so. Unless you are telling me that i should lower standards and accept scratched lenses which are so obvious to the naked eyes??????

oh i forgot abt the lemon law. Maybe if they dont do it right i will ask for refund, im really pissed off this time. I think its the lab fault rather than the shop. But the shop staff has promised to QC and only inform me for collection after they made sure everything is good. But i have to wait another 2 weeeks. I told them if the lens no good please keep send back to lab till they do their job properly. I have given too many chances in the past. i think i must speak up and demand good jobs, and not substandard work done.
the whole point is to avoid the debacle in the first place. let the courageous take up the challenge

and if you're sold yourself as a difficult customer, they will understand even if it hits a rut and need to refund

and by your resolute ranting here, I would have thought we've established the fact you think you know more than anyone else here

Avtually i do not think hoya should charge so much more just for an upgrade in coating. I have both sft and hvll, admit hvll does look better but price wise additional $100 is just too much. and sft is being forcibly phased out so consumers who takes hoya have no choice but to pay more to upgrade!

:s13: you think ?

there are very likely customers who purchased HVLL not at SFT prices but at HVP prices as well

Master, u see yur name is oldbreadstinks wat. Calling u by the name u put yourself at. Got call wrong meh? Oldbreadstink = stinkyoldbread. One is noun the other is adjective. U have large ego, boss.

Ok boss i will take yur advice. But i will find those staff easier to bully and get my lens redone. Probably after this round the shop knows my expectations just need to keep sticking to same shop. I think i found the shop i want. Not easy. For the longer term i need to find a shop that have sufficient biz to get the latest models but still able to give quite ok services at same time. I will probably push my luck see how far how suay i can go with this current shop. Dont say i dont give this chain shop & essilor chances. One last chance.

Bubbles are found on most pairs. U can only see them under the light. As for scratches its against the light. I can bring show u if u want. Even on hoya hvll. Zeiss dura as well. Essilor haven chance to check yet. When i Collect i will see any bubbles but tiny bubbles is all right. Im not a difficult person. Minor short scratches i will forego since i should just lower down to substandards as u suggest.

I tried using alcohol to clean the bubbles but cant go off i even use nails to scratch hard no avail. Even tried dishwashing soap. No use. Bubbles cant rid.

no difference between the 3 brands, essilor hoya zeiss. Clarity is zeiss selling point. R&D is essilor selling point. Coating is hoya selling point. At end od day all the same. Comes down to price. Whicheva cheaper just switch to that brand. Hoya up price unreasonably. Zeiss seem to be giving free upgrade. Essilor arent that cheap too.

I have said already. THE PROBLEM IS MY LUCK. I just so happen to get the problematic lens most times. Problem cannot be me. Cos i go to different shop. This current shop is the first time i ever been there. Anyway the staff has promises to redo and check good. They really are clusters of lines. I conclude that i am suayest in sg. Seem nobody has such problems i must be that suay kia who consistently got the errors.

Have lar. Their catalogs not updated yet. I have 3 opticians who called up zeiss supplier to check and all said got. My current zeiss is 1.74 RX superb duravision platinum. Those said only have 1.67 have not kept their knowledge updated.

yeah . doubt there'll be a change soon

By the way zeiss individualized 1.74 RX also have with latest duravision coating. But zeiss individualised SV sucks. They combine fatigue lens plus anti myopic features and its a spherical lens the centre is thicker than other brands and sides thinner. I think its no good cos the peripheral vision will auto blur and when yur eyes tired vision will blur. First and last time i will use zeiss individualised. Cant even see my name initials clearly. Only 4 alphabets max. Optician said ple complain initials too obvious so make it fainter. Wtf. Anyway i threw it one side after one week. Hope essilor will not disappoint me

Shop staff should really are hopeless. Tell them call up their zeiss supplier to check. Dont rely on catalog. They will tell you all features have 1.74RX. Including the highest premium Individualized RX. But shop need to have the zeiss machine. So far i think not many shops have the full set of machines required alot depend on optician skills in measurement too. I suggest dont take it. If you see zeiss share price not gg up anymore. Wonder why. But hoya and essilor share px surged for past 2 years.

i don't see how your lack of upbringing is a matter of my ego ?:s22:

i obviously said you need to ask if the shop understands your needs before plunging in , but you come up with rubbish like
" i will find those staff easier to bully and get my lens redone."

there shouldn't be visible scratches , nor have i suggested you lower down to substandards
you're going through whole name calling and putting words into my mouth routine again

i really feel that since you're so unhappy with what's avaliable and have burnt $20,000 on glasses yet feel unhappy
why not spend some money on air tickets and get your glasses done in australia and germany?
