Hi Guys,

Was thinking of reverting back to wearing spectacles after wearing contacts for so long.

Could anyone advise me as to which opticians are good and cheap?

I'm looking for low-mid range brands such as Ray-Ban, maybe Evisu and such.

I saw online there's some visiooptica at holland drive that has a huge range of spectacle brands and they claim that their prices are ~$100 cheaper than at normal retail stores.
Any one knows anything?

For long hours of computer at air-con area, best is to wear on specs. But if you really want to wear contact lenses try to rest your eyes every 30min by looking far away best at a distance of 15m-30m with color like green. It does help to relax your eye muscle so that you will not tent to stress your eyes.

Hi any oakley experts can enlighten me. I saw a model oakley dictate 4.0 colour is Pewter. But i search online there's only colour called pewter/matte black. But it doesn't look fake at all.

So does anyone know is there really a colour just call Pewter ?

Hitop HEMW lenses

Refractive Index: 1.56
• Anti-Reflection Coated (Multicoated)
• Protection from Ultra-Violet Rays
• Protection from Infra-Red
• Eliminates Static Electricity
• Provides Electro Magnetic Interference Shielding
• Light-Weight and Hardness of Surface
• Anti-Water (Water Resistance)

is the tokai 1.76 lens good? how much does it cost?

Yes, very good for high degree. It come in 2 type of lenses[Bi-aspherical and aspherical]. Of cos Bi-aspherical is much more expensive but the lens will look more thinner then normal 1.76 aspherical.

"The standard application of our Super Power Shield coating renders these lenses scratch-resistant and more durable. A double-surface aspherical design realizes a clear, natural field of vision to the peripheral portions of these lenses and an ideal level of comfort for wearers."

More info @ http://www.tokaiopt.com/lens/505570.php

now the best high index lens is what?

nikon/honya 1.76 lens?

any recommendation?

Nikon & Hoya only come in 1.74 index :)

how much is the bi-aspherical one? the coating we can choose to add on? or standard coating for 1.76 bi aspherical?

is tokai high index lens available in most shop like specs hut / paris miki/captical optical/nanyang optical in shopping centre?

If they do carry tokai then they should carry 1.76 bi-as lens as well. Not every optical outlet carry the lens as it's very expensive for bi-as lenses. Coating is standard but no worries for the coating.

I personally find KS outstanding, so I highly recommend it. My Tokai lens are also peng solid. The coating is different from my Hoya, smoother.

The bi-AS, damn nah beh !!! hahahahaaa .... Super solid !!!! Price also peng solid !

Eg, IIRC, this 1.70 cost me $315, the bi-AS version = $560 !!!

thanks for the advice.shall wear specs when i am working then.

got a qn about lens.some shops told me that if a frame is curvy, they are only able to fit lens of index 1.6 & below on it.when i asked about using 1.67 & above(cuz my degree ard 650 degree per eye),they say not possible as the nature of index 1.67 & above lens are flatter in nature.so not possible to curve it to fit into the frame.is this true?

yup.the part about the prices being controlled is true.but for prescription frames, its worth it to get in local shops since u are covered by warranty & can go to Oakley Sg to change the nosepads & earsocks(if any).

although frames can't give discount,u can look for cheaper lens...so i tink its worth the effort to look ard & save a little bit on the lens.
