Have very often done that.

I have done that before, save $$ for the frame, provided the frame is in working condition....

Oh so it will definitely be cheaper to make only the lenses right? I plan to take some cheap $12 sunglasses to make lenses as I like the frame design. A rough estimate for 400-500 degrees lenses which require multicoat?

Not really. I think when you buy the frame + the lens from a single shop, they can give you more discount. Or you may be able to work out a deal with them.

But most of the time, I may overlook discounts and go for frames from other places because Kwong Shin & The Eye Place don't always carry what I'm looking for. Both bosses understand, and always accept my challenges. And so I don't normally bargain the lens. They don't hum tum me either.

At the end of the day, I go for long term usage, wearability and partnerships. I look for the frames I like, and the opticians I trust.

Hi all. Anyone has comments of Crizal Advance over Hoya lens. I went optical shop mostly talk about Carl Zeiss, Teflon, Crizal. Never really hear about Hoya. I am considering Crizal and Hoya.

Saw a range of Swissflex specs. They are really nice and almost indestructible. My optician friend pulled them until the entire pair of specs were almost flat and they spring back to shape! Neat marketing trick! And he showed me a pair that is about 8grams only! And I thought my Raybans were light!

Bought a pair of swissflex specs around 4+ years ago. If ur lens too thick will be very uncomfortable as the specs will keep sliding down. The lens end up alot heavier than my frame. So if ur degree quite high better get the one with the hook at the back. But its really indestructible. Even stepped on it once and the frame just broke into different parts but can be snapped back.

Good points! Will take note of it as I go shop for a Swissflex specs to compliment my Raybans specs. Luckily my lens are not thick. :)

Hi guys, I am planning to get a pair of frameless spects, any recommendation? I heard swissflex is good, any optical shop that has wide range of frameless spects? btw, what's the avg price for swissflex? thanks

bought this frame recently at Queenway
http://www.swissflex-eyewear.com/sites/collection/collection.html?id=13
$400 with Crizal Airwear len

Although frame+len are light, the frame does not secure to the head tightly and tend to slide down. veri troublesome.
