1.56 lens see things slow when turning your head
1.67 lens so call wide lens can see things fast
is it true?
i bought the frame and crizal Easy lens 1.56 @ 270 ... with asti below 200.. so roughly ard how much if i wana get these kind of frame with transition? Are u optemetrist? In Singapore. You are already not paying for eye check. Whatever price you get you should thank god that Singapore govt don't enforce strict rules on optometrist charging for eye examinations. What I can say is if the frame is 270 add u to 400 should be considered cheap already. If you don't want. Bargain more.
Expect 250++ for frame
150-200 for lenses.

Crizal has all the faults that you mentioned... doesn't feel any special from normal lens... i have a pair that i wear everyday to work... they are polycarbs.... chipped off twice.. got it replaced luckily is FOC

How can polycarb lens get chipped off (at the edges I supposed)? Are you sure they are polycarb lens at all?![]()

Polycarb is shatterproof. It will chip.
I have dropped or throw a flat edge polycarb lens on hard floor they never chip. The most I get is a dent on the edges. This is also one of the reason for recommending polycarb lens or 1.6 index lens for thin lenses on semi rimless or metal rimlon frame, to prevent chipping when grooving the lens or after lens insertion.
That's exactly what I experienced last year.
First case. I got a mom bringing in her 5 year old child. That Child seems like a hyperactive child or at least mischievous. Thus I reccommended poly carb lenses which is more suitable invade he knocks himself into something and hurt his eyes. In fact in USA all children are required by law to be prescribed polycarbonate lenses unless in special cases. That mom was carrying a prada bag with loads of branded clothes. She said "I don't want to spend so much on specs. Children break things easily". That's precisely my point. Safety of the child. End up she paid me using a 1000 dollar bill for a $99 spectacles.
Second case. After checking the eye of a Filipino child about 7 years of age. She never worn glasses her entire life. I realize that there is some problems with her eye muscles and her astigmatism is abnormally high. And the onset of blurred vision is only 1 week ago. I suspected something more serious than refractive error. I wrote a referral letter for her mom to bring her to the hospital. Her mom just give me that weird stare when I said I need to charge her for consultation. They even waited in the store for 3 hours for the child's dad to arrive. Even after explaining to her dad of the condition of his daughter, he keeps insisting I prescribe glasses for her. However I stood firm and insisted they seek an ophthalmologist for help. In the end they left After paying without even thanking me for my time.
Have you tried hoya bi aspheric lenses? or zeiss glass lenses? maybe you can let us know your experience with these.
If scratches is an issue, glass is the only way to go. As for the chromatic abberation, you can consider lenses that is of a lower index which have a higher abbe value. very high index lenses usually have higher chromatic abberation. I assume you are using 1.74 index lenses. So you can go for bi aspheric 1.67 index instead. or 1.71 (from hoya).
Otherwise you can always go for soft contact lenses when you do your photography. With your prescription there should not be any issue.
AS for lasik, your prescription is also quite ideal. but since you need to have very high contrast and wide field of vision and and very sharp vision, I don't think any eye speciallist will take on your case lest you complain after the surgery.
Looking for clean-looking semi-rimmed specs without ostentatious logos. Something that look like the TH Track, w/o the strong silver upper rim. Swiss Flex is okay, except for the distinct nose bridge. The Oakley Clubface and Jacknife comes close, if only without the recognizable 'O' logo on its arms.
Recommendations?
i think you don need to bother about people who are not concerned abt their own health, you cant do much anyway.
Most people do not like paying fee for eye exam and most shops like wad you all said just do a simple test for free.
However, the shop that i went to actually provides free test like eye pressure, checking retina & eye refraction & wont charge you if you make specs with them. Although may not be that comprehensive but i think its still ok. If you dont buy their specs they charge abt $50.
