what they are doing are just gimmicks. checking retina you mean with a camera? thats also slipshod work there. to charge $50 for that kind of test, you should ask them to rob a bank.
by the way how do you tell the difference between an error in the prescribed lens or whether due to the health state of our eyes?
for example, my power is constant, meaning no changes all these years. If there is a difference in acuity between different pair of lenses, how can you tell is it due to a minor error in the way the mold the lenses or they make a mistake with the PD or one of my eyes could be blurry due to fatigue? i have high astigmatism. does that mean that a slight deviation will make a lot of difference?
Without an optical instrument to verify, i cant tell whether the lens is optically correct or not even though the person will tell you that the lenses are correct.
