what they are doing are just gimmicks. checking retina you mean with a camera? thats also slipshod work there. to charge $50 for that kind of test, you should ask them to rob a bank.

by the way how do you tell the difference between an error in the prescribed lens or whether due to the health state of our eyes?

for example, my power is constant, meaning no changes all these years. If there is a difference in acuity between different pair of lenses, how can you tell is it due to a minor error in the way the mold the lenses or they make a mistake with the PD or one of my eyes could be blurry due to fatigue? i have high astigmatism. does that mean that a slight deviation will make a lot of difference?

Without an optical instrument to verify, i cant tell whether the lens is optically correct or not even though the person will tell you that the lenses are correct.

Polycarb is shatterproof. It will chip.

was told by a optometrist its shatterproof but its not scratch proof would leave quite a bit of scratches if you do not take proper care..

however i've got a pair of polycrab lens on my frameless frame it has being serving me well.

everybody opinions differ. thats why i need to know how to tell the difference myself.

if you just want to check the power and pupil distance between two pair of glasses but don't have the instrument to check, just get someone else to check it.

if you are having problem with your new glasses but the shop said they are the same, just counter check with another shop. all you need to know if the degree and the pupil distance is the same between the old and new glasses. If they are the same and you still getting problems, then get someone reliable to do a more thorough check.

however, if you don't trust anyone and wants to find out the problem yourself, you can always spend 3 years getting an optometry diploma. but it's no guarantee that you will be able to solve every problem that you encounter even after studying optometry for 3 years. :D

Nope, i want to know whether the diff is due to the lens power or due to my own eyes, due to fatigue body not ok etc.

is there like 'anti fog' lenses? Cause everytime I alight from a cold bus, my glasses are totally "fogged" for quite some time..quite inconvenient..plus sometimes if my face gets too hot suddenly, also fog again.

specs nowadays are really poor in workmanship (in general for all things). I just got a new oakley frame & noticed a color "chip off" in a corner.

Exasperated & paranoid.
