why are oakley frames so much mre exp than normal frames? their quality looks the same as normal frames. I have normal frames that loses color just a while after wearing them, so does oakley frame. Normal frames cost just abt 100dol but oakey much mre. Y is this so?

Try wearing a pair of Oakley shades for ur run vs a similar looking pair u get at ur regular 7-11 shop..

Len quality, design creativity, branding, market dollars..

Forward looking style, brand association are probably some factors that differentiate the brands.

Quality looks the same as normal frames - I beg to differ. Only prolong usage can tell the difference.

I saw a few children Ray Bans at the Optical shop at Level 1 of Century Square. Can check it out.

I also remembered another shop at Tampines 1 (OTO, I think) selling children shades. But can't confirm that those are Ray Bans.

i agree that oakley is forward looking in style & originality which other off-brands are making imitations. Most likely its due to the branding that made the cost difference. However, im not so sure about the comfort level of their frames, heavier & the ears can grip till bleed.

But i do not knoe whether the price is justified. Its 5 times the price of the off-brands. Are we paying most for the logo brand?

i think oakley should just lower down the price of their spec frames. Becos so many ple are using them & they make them in china. I tot tat when supply is huge, prices shd go down??

I just bought a Tag frame. Very light and comfortable.

but the nose pads are long & straight, doesnt contour & fit well to our noses lei. And the new nosepads are supersoft, too soft till they doesnt retain their shape after 2 months of wearing. They are supposed to be ultra flexible but if ur nose is not in perfect shape, the soft silicon pads will be twisted & distorted after prolonged usage & doesnt go back to the original perfect shapes.

As for the old nosepads, they are too hard & painful becos they dig right into your skin.
