Good point. I think many optometrist would recommend him to those they don't like.

Actually no optical shop will turn customer away unless they are really a pain in the ass, which I don't think seannie is. Besides, seannie pays alot for his specs and I think he has the right to expect good customer service and also expect to get proper advice from competent and professional opticians/ optometrist.

thanks bro.

When choosing frames or opticians, it is impossible to avoid all the mistakes, or even to avoid the avoidable mistakes. It is difficult to avoid mistakes especially when it comes to choosing the right specs & i realised that i have the tendency to keep making the same wrong decisions.

I hope that with each failure i face, im that much closer to success.

Is the brand "Urban" under the same company as "IC!Berlin"?
They seem to have quite similar frames design.

Are you refering to the brand Urband? It is a french brand, their frames also go for a more minimalist industrial kind of look although like IC berlin and mykita, they have started to come out with newer trendier looks.

Their hinges (also screwless, clip types) and overall quality is comparable to IC Berlin if not better, depending on model. Limited distribution here, I think Nanyang optical/ Alexis is one of the very few, because they have some collabs with them. I like them alot, very comfy and they suit more people better than the german stainless steel sheet design. Curvature is also more forgiving.

I came across a shop in Tampines. They offered me Crizal lens + Transistion at a total price of $300 without frame.

Do you think it is real?

I'll be choosing my own oakley frame from elsewhere.

My degree is 625 per side. (do not have 'san guan' or other problems)
Is there a better lens other than Crizal? If I choose Hoya what index and etc would be suitable for me?

Thanks!

Contact lens is cheaper in malaysia but trouble is you must order in advance. order will take a few days to arrive @ shop and bit mafan to go bk to JB again just to collect the lens. I bought my contact lens in HKG, the cheapest. Make a pair of glasses in Melaka, Hoya lens 1.55, no brand plastic frame RM280

Does anyone here own a pair of Oakley Wingspan? Does it come with authentic certificate and does the glasses have the word "China" on the inside of the spec arm.

Hi, just got my Ducati Wingspan spec from Queenway last week. The specs come with a original box with a local distributor labour paste outside the box.
It also comes with original waranty card/info and a warrenty registration card that is to be used in US only.

There isnt any printing of "china" on the inside of the spec arm. It does have a CE mark on it and also the model no.
The only piece that have the "MADE IN CHINA" is the micro cloth spec bag. According to the shop I bought from, all OAKLEY frame are made in the USA. But I have came across some that claim that only Oakley sunglass are make in US the rest in China, which is correct , I am not too sure. As much as I know, only "local Set" are allow to claim warrenty for corrosion or paint work chipoff, and also life time replacement of nose pad and rubber sock from the local distributor.

Just be careful that there are alot of fake product around, make sure you have the warrenty card when you get you spec. There is a high chances that those without the warrenty card are fake oakley product. I have for once got myself paying a discount price for a "parallel imported" set of Oakley spec that I suspect to be fake. As it doesnt come with any document or warrenty card . The problem is that it just dont last, paint work came off after just 3 month, worst the spec arm broke after I accidentally drop it onto the floor . Even a cheap frame would not break of just like that.

Now praying hard that my new spec can last for a good few years, but at least I know that the new one have a genuine warrenty if anything were to go wrong.

What is the advantage of bi-aspheric lens over single aspheric lens?
Is it just the thickness of the lens ?

Bought an Oakley Metal Plate Ducati specs + Zeiss 1.67 Hi Index Lens = $800 damage. Not sure if Zeiss is as good or better than Crizal. Anyway the service was superb by the store. Tested my eyes for at least 20 mins to make sure it gets me the best suited lens power

bought from Better Vision at Tampines Mall. Their good service is consistance thruout all their staff. The staff that attend to me was Kelvin and he explain quite indepth despite all the crowd on Sunday.

Pic still don't have because few days later then can collect the specs.

Actually wanted to get at the spec shop near CPF Macdonalds tampines. They quoted me $300 for crizal + transition on fri but went on sunday price was same as elsewhere. Aiming for nike specs and they are selling it at ridiculous high price compare to any other shops in tampines mall, one, century sq.

Their pricelist pretty much standard.
Crizal 1.67 with transistion is $588
Crizal 1.67 normal is $240
Crizal 1.6 normal (with anti dust) $130? or $160?
Crizal 1.67 (without anti dust) is $200

Zeiss is at $320 for 1.67. Oakley die die no discount. :(
