Hi, may I know the spectacles can reduce the amount of radiation when we look at the computer screen?

I think research have shown that radiation that is emitted from the computer screen is not harmful to the eyes. However, if you still want those lenses, they are available.

You bought this Frame for $300 :s31: ??

X100. And to sell here at that price with a filled/ used RX lens is really

This brand is sold at alot of generic optical shops as a "house" brand and even SPOC. The frame plus a regular multi-coated lens retails only between $70-$150, depending on material.

I dont think the major brands carry them. go for unbranded ones. U can go optical shops and ask around for price.

Looking at his postings, he has so far been a nightmare than best friend, not easy to satisfy :s13:

i seriously dont like being a nightmare to other people, in fact when im buying other necessities in life, i am not so troublesome, if that is why you are thinking of me to be.

If I hadnt been facing so many problems with the specs that i have been wearing, why would i bother to be posting all these? Or at anoher angle i should ask, if opticians and or those people in the optical trade all around had been proficient enough, professional with passion in their trade & do a good job, why shd i have such problems at all in the first place? I have been wearing specs since primary one until now & i have met few people who can be really professional in the optical trade. There are some who are really good, but most likely i do not have the luck to chance upon, or those old ones who had already retired from the scene.

Good point. I think many optometrist would recommend him to those they don't like.

This kind of optometrists are those without any professional ethnic at all, no conscience at all, and only care about $$$$ in their minds, or just sadly plainly have no passion in their trade.

For the record: Spectacle Hut has stopped providing Nikon lenses. See here for authorised Nikon spectacle lens dealers in Singapore.
Nikon-Lenswear for Singaproe | Store Locator. The only reason that I think they have done that is because Spectacle hut has chosen to use a cheaper brand/lens manufacturer in order to earn more.

This is important for high astigmatism. So far, only Nikon lens has worked for me very well (1.6 index) in giving me the widest distortion free vision. Also very important, to not use 1.7 or higher index, and use index below 1.7 due to unavoidable color aberration at the peripheral vision which affects all lenses regardless of manufacturer. I found this the hard way after spending on 1.74 hi-index lenses. I found out that that while looking at my widescreen LCD/LED computer monitors which fills up almost 3/4 of my vision while I do work, the fonts have too much color shift looking through towards the edges of the lens causing double lettering in different colours.

One last thing is to check that your spectacle nose pad is made of silicone (you can test it - it is quite sticky even with somewhat oily fingers) and not PVC (you can test it - it slips very easily). If you nose pad is made of PVC (vinyl), the spectacle will tend to slip down your face. The sad thing is that Spectacle Hut gives me PVC nose pad, what a s**t. All spectacle shops are giving silicone nose pads, I don't know why Spectacle hut is giving pvc nose pads.

from what i heard is Nikon chooses and authorize only certain shops to carry Nikon lens... not sure why... probably is quality control. Their lab is in Japan.

I am looking to get a pair of specs as my old one is already in quite a bad state. Been visiting this optic shop in my neighbourhood but the design all quite orbiang de, so decided to go for a change for something trendy.

Any good shops to recommend that have a wide selection of specs to choose from and offers reasonable prices?

Budget <$200, eyesight degree ~150.

Seek all your kind advices and recommendations! :)
