No, I dont think its good enuf. If your degree is 750 u need to take double aspherical design, am i right xiaokaka? $80 korean lens is cheap but vision is not good. And AR coating sure v lousy. Even normal jap lens like OSA brand's AR coating spoils after 4 mths. I dont dare to say for korean lenses. Im surprised shops in sg nowadays still sells you such lens.

$80 honestly speaking cant even last you one day of living expenses in sg. So what to say for a pair of lens? U can only imagine the quality.

Thanks for your input. This is the first time i actually am involved with lens prescription. Been previously wearing 1.67 japanese/malaysian-made coated lenses which have lasted well. I was on the lookout for a new pair of aesthetic glasses and thus not too willing to spend too much on a pair.

Coating wise, clarity and vision, i will update on it when it comes. the 1.74 was simply because i wanted to have a look at its novelty, as its been a really long time since i last wore thin lenses. Furthermore, its for vanity rather than functionality, so i wouldnt be too discerning about the quality.

I ordered the lenses from china by the way. Dont live in sg too :s13:

if you need to be vain, then pls really don wear specs at all. According to a research, ple look their best without specs. And seriously, with your kind of prescription, 1.74 really makes no diff fm 1.67. 1 mm or so don really make u look much nicer lo for your info, in case you are not able to see yourself.

Thanks for your suggestion. i really had no idea the difference in thickness between 1.74 and 1.67 at my power. It is after all, a novelty, i mean, i might go for rimless and better lens in the future and this might be a precursor to getting better quality lens when i can next afford it.

As for eyewear and vanity, well, i think that sometimes spectacle frames do make a fashion statement and difference. I do save the contact lens for occasions; To each his/her own.

Since we are on the topic of 1.74 lenses, maybe you could shed some advice on a poor soul like me, if my myopia of 750 do not require 1.74 lenses, when should a person actually get 1.74 lenses, taking all other current lens technologies and options into consideration? Thanks

Guys, contemplating to get an Oakley Jupiter Square Sunglasses from Amazon for USD93 and spend SGD$160 here to change the lens to prescription sun glass lens. the frame itself is like $350 plus here. Is this a good idea and furthermore not sure if the Oakleys in Amazon are genuine stuff. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Hey citiguy, not only are lenses expensive, everything else is expensive now. Even a hdb flat can cost you more than 500k and up to $1mil whereas many years back hdb is supposed to be affordable & much cheaper.

So seriously speaking, $1000 for lens will be considered the minimal in the years to come. Imagine sg inflation rate is the highest together with hk. U just got to work harder to earn mre $. Investing in a good pair of specs is much better than you needing to change your lenses every once in a while else you got to live with seeing the world through spoiled AR coating lenses.

Now, what you mentioned is a scary scenario... :(

Hais, you still don get wat im trying to say. wat i mean is that the nylon may have been scatched or run over by sme metal things or watever that causes fine roots of the nylon to come off.

Anyway, i will just live with it and wait till the lens spoil before gg back re-order new lens to fit in at the same time request them to replace me a new nylon thread. That wil most likely be in a few yrs' time. If go back to shop to ask them do anyting now, im afraid they will further spoil either the frame or the lens in the midst of re-doing. I better save the risk.

If nylon's fibre breaking off, can change nylon string.

U post hi-res shot see if any1 else can comment.

IMHO, -750 get 1.74 looks better.

1.67 can do the job no doubt. Clarity higher, light transmission higher, abbe value higher is correct.

so now depends on the wearer looking for clarity or looks.

Best clarity lenses in the market is Glass 1.5 Uncoat.

Hi guys, just want to check if the prices for Tag Heuer prescription glasses are fixed in Singapore (similar to Oakley). If not, are there any shops which sells them at lower prices?

Is it better off buying from local websites like SBG which sells it at significantly lower prices? Don't think it comes with warranty though.

Will appreciate your responses. Thank you.
