Can you kindly please advise me if there is any way to remove this plastic residue?

Normally i would just put in Ultrasonic cleaner and micro fibre cloth to rub harder(make sure no sand or rough dust particles in the cloth).

Or u use normal lens cleaner spray. Try to avoid nail polish remover. If must, use just abit..

Is the coating on lenses done before or after edging?

Raw plastic material >> Blank lens(one block of round plastic) >> Grinding machines(CNC ect.) >> Layers of Anti-Relfection coats, Hardcoats, UV coats, Hydrophobic Coats ect. >> Packed into small square paper bags labeled (eg. Sph -2.00; Cyl -0.50 ; Carl Zeiss Clarity 1.60AS ; Product of Germany)

Cyl will be cut according to what YOUR prescription by rotating the lens.

Pupil Distance is input into edging machine. Lens will normally be auto-edged. Special prescriptions or frames will require different steps and edging processes but generally this is the whole idea.

I tried to use nail polish remover on a pair of my old spectacles lens which has the similar problem (supposedly the plastic resideue which you said) and rub hard but the speck just wont come off. So i dare not try on my new lens, afraid coating may get spoil if rub too hard. :( Wonders why plastic residue can get so stubbornly stuck on the lens surface? I tot sft coating supposed to be v smooth surface even dirt or stain do not accumulate easily or culd be wiped off easily, how come plastic residue..... :(

Does capitol optical carry silhouette models, Intarsia & Action Styled as seen on silhuoette website? i went to optical 88 but seems that they do not have these models. Most are those simple designs.

They do. i think all Capitol outlets carry Sillhouette as the Supplier is closely linked to Capitol group.

wonder anyone has the same problem as i am.

most of the time when i make a spect at a shop, while trying out frame, maybe i found one that suits me. how come after when i am about to collect it after installing the lens, and try it out for the last time before exiting the shop, i will tend to find the spect weird... like doesn't really suit me. quite a few times already.

i am wondering is it because my eye degree is high to the extend, i can't really see when i trying new frames. really not sure how to overcome it. and one more thing i have a small face i guess. so most biggies frame look really weird on me... anyone has the same problem?

Just take a photo and then go back load into your PC/ album, think about it for a while first and ask people for some opinions. If you still like it, go back to the shop and ask for the same frame. Many years ago when digital cameras in handphones were less used, the practice might be strange but nowadays, it's quite common. Also, you mentioned you have a high prescription, so this will be easier for you to look and judge for yourself.

You can also use that first photo as a reference to compare against the newly fitted frame.
