Sin Chew i think is an optical shop name?Sin Chew i think is an optical shop name?
Is Sin Chew located in Thomson Plaza issit the one near novena?
Nope it further north of novena
try to tilt your lens up against the light & see whether you can spot the letter "H" that looks like (-) on your lens. My hoya nulux EP lenses have this logo but depends whether this logo may be cut away during edging. If you can spot this logo then defnitely HOYA. Otherwise you can try to look at the colour of the coating, though it is very similar with other brands, v hard to tell unless u took sft coating then v easy to tell.
Very obviously the shop had cheated you on the power or axis or have not done a proper job for you. Since old power is clear, rem to stick to this power until or unless another better optician can prove otherwise. I took a long time trying out many opticians in the past before i can ascertain the correct power of my eyes, up to the axis even, cos my astig high. Initially i tot my axis was x180for both eyes, but in the end realise that right side should be x2.
Remember don go back to northern opticians already. So many opticians ard no need to die die patrionise the same kind of sh**
try optic focus, opposite Bata stretch, near to Library.
200+ ??
+2.00 ? (long sighted)
-2.00~ (short sighted)
-200 ; ADD +200 (Reading problem/ Presbyopia)
If what u getting is a normal single vision, price dont seem too crazy. If they are saying its a progressive..... i'd be careful if i were u.
Hi Guys,
Need some advice. I have been quoted 360sgd for a 1.6 carl zeisis transition lense. Is it the market rate or am I being chop? My degree is around 500+.. Any recommendation to make the lense cheaper? Thanks~
Thanks xiaokaka for your reply. Yes its normal single vision.
I got my glasses back and instead of Swisscoat, its now Essilor 1.6 with Crizal coating and Transitions lenses. $410 reasonable?
I asked for an authenticity card for the lenses but was told theres no such thing? FJ Isaacs said they personally guarantee the lenses. I was alittle unsure, but bearing in mind their reputation (Stan Isaacs is 1 of the owners), should be fine i guess? What do you think?
Also, I am curious as to how do the opticians mould the plastic frames to my face? I remember standing at a distance to this "machine" at the shop. Is this meant to determine how the frame will sit on my face?
Now when i placed the frame on the table, the left temple is bend higher. eg doesnt touch the table. looks unbalanced to me but apparently when i wear it, seems fine.

Should have the card... i will try to show u a picture of it if i can find 1.
All transistion lenses comes with the card. Not all SIngle Vision lenses comes with Gurantee card.
Sin Chew should be under the alias, aldric12, while Evershine's evershineoptical.
Aldric did post, http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/search.php?searchid=7167637
While they may not be actively promoting here, they have several threads on selected eyewear. Though, Aldric seem to be away since last month.
Besides, you're our top contributor with 371 posts (& counting) in this thread.

hello,
i am interested to get frame+lenses from glassusa.
Questions:
1. what do u think of rimless glasses + high index 1.74 for minus 6 (both eyes), cy -0.5 (both eyes)?
2. does brand matter for high index 1.74 lenses?
3. does anyone know the quality and brand of high index 1.74 lenses from glassusa?
Thank you!
