Anyone willing to sell the entire frame or just the temple, please msg me.

If you know where I can get a good deal on this model or buy replacement parts, please msg me too.

Thanks,

My grandmother made me a pair of new frames on wednesday and I collected them. However they're calvin klein frames and I don't wear 'designer' frames at all. I feel really bad for these frames and want to pay her back for them and at the same time don't want to hold on to these frames because firstly no one in my house wears these frames (we wear cheaper frames) and secondly there's no point keeping the frames.

Honestly, i think many people would say "get used to them" or "just wear them" but i'm not the kind of person who goes for these branded stuff so i'm really reluctant to wear them and also have my grandmother buy something like this for me. What i am going to do is find a suitable cheaper pair of spectacles and cut those lenses to those frames so i'll be left with just these frames themselves. I have spoken to my grandmother about doing so and she is fine with it and I'll pay her back for the specs, but for the mean time:

Do you know of any place who would buy these almost brand-new 2nd hand frames?

They're Ck 182 fames.

If you do have anything could you pm me or sms me (preferbly) at 81639783

Thank you so much.

If within one to two months, bring it back to the shop. Replacement is free. If not, u can ask them to strip and recoat. Price i will leave to ur optician to discuss. If there are scratches, best to change the entire lens. My suspicion is they will advice u to change the whole lens since most plano lens are already pre-coated.

You shouldn't wash it too regularly. You should just wipe it down with a damp cloth, preferably without detergent. Anyway if you don't mind spending a bit more, you should try out Hoya lenses. They have a remarkable coating that's actually quite scratch resistant. I swear by them whenever I make new glasses.

Anyway, I couldn't adjust to my new pair of Mykita as it was giving me some issues with comfort. Went back to the Optician today after a couple of adjustments and he was kind enough to offer a change of frames, FOC. Gotten a pair of Lindberg's Acetanium 1000 series in tortoise shell. Gotta take 2 weeks for them to order a new pair as the one I tried was actually sold and he even had to redo the lenses.

I haven't been greeted with such excellent customer service for a long while, so I'll just spread a good word for the opticians at "The Eye Place". They're located at Stamford House and they do carry a wide range of premium frames, without the rip off pricing Optical 88 or Alexis offered me previously.

It is fine to wash it everyday with mild detergent. There are those which contain alcohol that might slowly bit by bit strip the coating. Wash it with detergent and then running water quickly, don't let the soap sit on the surface for a while.

In general, most coating will last 2 years at least, which is also the life of a prescription. There are a few which have peeled because of the edging work done. It also happens to the best, I've seen Zeiss, Hoya, and many other brands whose coating has peeled for some reason or other. Some polycarbonate lens seem to peel more than others in my experience with customers, mainly due to the fact that it is less chemical resistant although it provides greater impact protection.

If the optical shop wants to retain you as a customer, they should at least offer to give you half price of your next pair of lens (assuming it is similarly priced). It is not common for lens to coatings to peel in months if only exposed to normal conditions. Things like scratches and exposure to high heat (65 DC or more) e.g. car dashboard can cause coating problems or crazing, so can exposure to chemical solvents.
