... Joking aside, I really don't think I can tolerate getting no service even after signalling to them. If you have made 2 pairs there before, I don't think a customer-oriented shop would consider you small fry.

heh, its pretty weird loh. I look at them they look at me. I raise my hand (mahiam like school days need to raise hand to say something like that) but they look away...odd..haiz....

nm, i now go qw. shops there some are quite service oriented. not all but some. and prices pretty competitive.

wah..so poor service now. normally i will stare or speak out at the available sales person for attention if no response i will walk out of the shop (any shop), no point to give in to poor service.

QW is queensway? AMK is also another good location for spectacle prescription.

Yes it's very true that Seiko 1.67 asp lens is around $200 or below.
Hmmm... really arr? Then how come all the shops i've ever asked about
Seiko lens all quote me $350 - $400 AND ABOVE? izzit becos my degree is
high (600+) and got astigmatism ? Bo ko leng right....??

Can recommend me shops to get Seiko lens below $200?

Thanks. :)

P.S
Recently i made a pair of Nikon lens (1.67 index, degree 600+, astig) for $250.
Is it reasonable or overpriced?
I made it after visiting one Optical88 chain where a lady quote me $300+ for
nikon lens, then i told her i got quoted $250 in another shop and she said it's
a good price, her shop cannot offer this price and also told me i shld make them
at that shop.

.......

Went to Capitol... they having promotion of swissflex at $380 and free 1.6 Essilor airwear....

Funny thing is that a lot of opticians don't recommend Seiko saying that it is not durable?
My last 4 pairs of lens are all Seiko lens... and each lasted me at least 2 to 3 years before I change new specs.... so I wonder how come many are saying Seiko is not lasting?

Anyway... besides Seiko which other lens and type is recommended?

I tried Hi-top, Hoya and AO brand... and also Seiko... I find that although they're all 1.67 lens, but their thickness... curves and vision slightly varies... and of all... I find Seiko is the most friendly to my eyes so far... eg. same pair of frame and also 1.67 lens and also same degree..... only thing that differs is the lens brand.... I find Seiko easier to adapt for my eyes as compared to other brands leh... other brands may take me few minutes and hours to adapt to it...
just don't know why is it so... that's why a number of opticians asked me how come I want to get Seiko brand despite their advice against it....
That's a funny thing...

I agreed with that...I have mild myopia since young but seldom wear spec, that's mean I missed seeing a lot of good stuff..:s13:
Joke aside, now "old man" already, slowly getting astigmatism..I made my first progressive unknown brand lens a few years back and made a Carl Zeiss progressive len last year..I found that I adapt easier with the unknown lens better than Carl Zeiss ($500+, luckily I could "claim" from the company)...

There's many known and unknown (expensive) lens on the market..if some are priced about the same range, it's quite difficult to choose when one suits you as this is unlike choosing shirt or pant where you can try...once you made it..whether you like it or not..it's consider "sold"?...

Hi, just wondering if it is possible to get some nice frames bought from some shops and then bringing it to the optician to have it done.

Yes , can be done... :) but usually when you make a frame and lens together from the same shop, mostly will be cheaper as it is bundled.. Why get your frame from other shop ? Some optical store do sell very nice frame too.. :D:D

Nice geeky frame.. is it your degree is high that's why you didnt see properly to decide on this frame? Sometimes geeky spec's len shape too round, end up look abit plump on the face.. :s22:

My degree is 600+ on one side and 700+ on the other.
The 600+ side is classified as lazy eye..? As told by my optician. He told me that the degree of my lazy eye didn't increase. :o
