But they will ask you to pay if yout a replacement lenses cos they will tell you tat you are ok with their recommendation.

i went back and they accept replacement.. i also insist on having the authenticity card and SFT coating. no extra charges. ;)

mins is 1.67 nikon w see coat la but i use plastic frame so not obvious. I dun wan 1.74 cos i can feel a lot of aberration.

whats the diff between 1.67 and 1.74?

I checked out the optical expert forums.. seem like 1.7 is more advisable instead of 1.67 and 1.74.... why?

seems that all the shops i visit... recommend Essilor Crizal...

do you know why? because they are stuck with the inventory. they bought them in bulk to lower their cost. so if they don't sell essilor crizal, what are they going to sell?

Crizal is overrated. people keep asking for them because of the amount of advertising essilor place in the media to brain wash consumers.

It's very obvious that they have over charged you and given you a different product from what is agreed.

instead of just getting a replacement, you can ask them to replace the product and then ask for refund or discount or whatever, otherwise you will complain to CASE. sure win.
That is if you want to be nasty.

Just need to ask you an impt question; how do you define shoddy worksmanship? If lets say the area around the screws which joined the lenses have the paint scratched off, do you consider this to be acceptable>?

i would say depends on how badly the paint is scratched off. it's not considered shoddy workmanship, but mishandling or simply due to poor quality frame.

whether acceptable or not it's up to the consumer. if you cannot accept, ask them to change the frame.

Is VP coating the same as HVP??

Cant imagine there are still conman nowadays, esp when you dont even know whether the lenses they gave you are really what the card claims to be or what they claim it to be. Better just to buy the cheap unbranded lens la. Then no worries. Safe for the mind as well as our pockets. :)

Yes they are the same.

I think going for cheap unbranded lens is not the solution, due to quality problem. Some of those cheap lenses are lenses that don't pass QC when they are manufactured from the factory. But if you are lucky , you get good ones.

Going to a reliable and honest retailer is the solution. there are still conman, but they are minority. Charging a high price is one thing, but giving you a different product from the one agreed is obviously cheating. It's very serious if word spread around that they are dishonest. reputation will go down the drain.

wonder why 1.7 is lighter than 1.74?

anyone know how to find out whether my current lens is asperical, double asperical or non asperical? mine is 1.67 seiko which i did some 3years ago... then i changed a few spectacles but couldnt get use to them,.. in the end fall back to the old one... so i'm wondering is the asperical thing makes a difference... there is no change of degree. sometimes i hate changing spectacles and lens

in what way is it overrated? as compared to which other brands?

CASE was my last measurement if they insist they are right. but apparently when i stomp in their shop. their usual "friendliness" become "yes sir..yes sir".. i gt soft spot on milf..:(
so just insist on the coating and card..

If you want to know what is the problem, find a qualified and experienced optometrist to trouble shoot for you. Otherwise, sometimes all you need is some adjustments to the frame angles and it should be fine.
