Yesterday ordered Silhouette frame and Nikon SeeMax 1.74 customize lenes.

Each of those lenses are customized build to best fit prescription, face and frame, attempt to achieve best possible optical performance and comfortability.

Somemore SeeMax are Multi Axes Bi-Asph lenes - one aspheric axis on the front surface and eight axes on the back surface - that is six extra aspheric axes, to make edge even thiner and overall flater lens.

They come with SeeCoat diamond coating too.

Build time 2 weeks, finger crossed hope they perform well:D

What's the cost ?

Thanks for the advise... any frames to recommend with my budget? Or actually how are Oakley frames priced these days? if within my budget maybe I should just get Oakleys again :o

i just got mine sometime back, i think is made in china as what xiaokaka said. the pouch indicates Made in China.

For me, generally the quality is ok, i wont said fantastic. Guess u paid for the brand and the design of oakley.

My first Oakley, love it...

IC Berlin frames are nice too, suitable for business people.

guys, intend to do transistion for my current spec. its a hugo boss spec.

was quoted 300 1.6 for crizal transistion. Hoya 1.6 at 380 is abit stretch for me.

any other brands within the same range, budget max at 320 as i have just spend abit on a new spec.

Uh, isnt crizal merely a coating for lens like varilux comfort, ultra, eclipse & other brands? Look at pdf file posted earlier.

Recently checking out the price for Tag automatic 0843 rimless specs. Went to the neighborhood shop at Sunplaza Visual Arts. The girl quoted me the frame and lens crizal at 800sgd at even bargained for a better price she said it won't be far off from 800sgd and saying that the frame itself is already $750. Went off and found out that the frame price is $600 and AMK Eyechamp (?) is quoting me about $680 for the frame n lens. Man, can't believed neighborhood shop can chopped till this high. No way am i going there again. Lucky did not get from the shop.

how can you tell whether the nylon of a half-rim frame is tied securely to the lenses or not?

Does it mean that if the nylon doesnt sit in completely into the lens groove, it is loosely-tied? Or just means that the groove is not cut deep enuf for the nylon to sit in but not necessarily mean its not tightly secured?

anyone knoows how tight the nylon string shd be tied to the lens? Should the nylon sit completely into the lens groove or just half-sunk??

completely inside. Just use your hand to pull the lens. It should feel tight but not too tight.

will there be a issue if nylon dont sink in completely? Is this due to the machine cant cut the groove deep enuf?

By viewing it with my eyes i actually cant really tell whether it sits completely in or not. However if i run my fingers over i can feel the protrusion of nylon.

Just to cfm, so yr 1.5 lens cost $270 & if you get a 1.6 lens you'll have to pay $430 (270+160)

From the tables I provided below, I can see there are 3 Zeiss lens for single vision; there are 3 types of Zeiss AR coatings.

I really wonder why you guys are so cost sensitive even after buying. If you think you kena 'chop-carrot', just simply decline and walk out of the shop? The reason why you bought it in the first place means you are willing to fork out the money. Being mentioned many times already. Shop A sells the same frame as shop B. Shop A provides better service, and if they charge lets say 50 dollars more than shop B, it really depends on which shop you wanna buy from already am i right?

U are wrong dude.Asking for advice here after buying is to confirm if kana chop carrot than next time can don go bk to the shop and buy again. Although the money is spent than treat it as a lesson :D

That is the purpose of asking here. You can choose not to comment one=:p

When i was a student, one of the topics I read abt human psychology in marketing is a phenomenon called post-purchase evaluation.

In a nutshell, you can shop & shop & shop and when you finally decided to part yr money, then suddenly you find another shop selling cheaper/better etc. You will never be satisfied. This is common human behaviour. That is why this is a common question that is often posted here.

The lesson I got from this is never to compare after I made my final purchase, esp if it is an extraordinary (once off) purchase. Of course if it is a recurrent expense, then one must continue to shop for the best price, eg some pple change laptop/spectacles every few years but some pple change theirs every 6-12 mths!!!

Sharing yr experience is good for noobs who are finding what is expensive & what is value. Sometimes its a misperception that can be clarified here.

agree? :s22:
