hi xiaokaka

is it true that when optical shops get the spectacle frames from the suppliers, they will need to pay up within the credit term of one month? let's say for those frames that are slow-moving, can the optical shops still return back to the supplier or die-die they have to display till they are sold off?

Depends on the contract

I have been looking around my neighborhood optical shops, so far a Reebok frame caught my eye.

Any comments on Reebok frames here?

TIA for comments. :)

I'm thinking of getting a spare glasses. My current swissflex frameless glasses' nose pad broke twice within one year, and it cost $18 for a pair of nose pad.

Which brand of frame is light weight, frameless and durable? My degree is 500+600. Which lens is durable and not too expensive?

Is Linkskin good? But they dont't have frameless type. Nowadays I also don't see many people wear frameless frame.

Oakley did a wonderful job in advertising and marketing. just like essilor, their marketing and advertising budget is so huge they can keep bombarding comsumers with their products and branding. but then there is nothing special if you ask me, but still many consumers ask about crizal , crizal.... :s8:

how fast the optical shop needs to pay up depends on how fast the supplier wants them to pay up. some are COD, some credit terms 30/60/90/120 days.

most of the goods sold to optical shops are not returnable/exchangeable. cannot sell means money stuck there. but if the supplier really desparate for their business, they may offer some for exchange if they get some more orders from the supplier.

Hello everyone,

In view that the distributor for Oakley eyewear has been changed to Luxottica, does anyone here knows what is the warranty for their prescriptive frames? (1 year, 3 years?)

TIA for replies. :)

luxxottica is the largest eyewear distributor in the world and when they get too big, they become very arrogant, just like our PAP. please don't support them.

thanks for the helpful insight.

so you mean that if the optical shop later happens to notice anything he doesnt like on the frame, maybe worksmanship not tat perfect like an extra line or color streak or tiny dot on the frame etc, the supplier will usually not accept any exchange / return / refund ?? For frames that cant move, doesnt that mean optical shop have to donate them away after a long time?

I think for high-end & branded frames, the supplier cant be that desperate and often not negotiable in many things.
