Hi guys, I am in need of a new specs as my old 1 has tons of "scars" and totally hurting my vision. Causing headache and tiredness. Not forgetting i kenna carrot cake last time as i didn't know a thing or did my research on glasses.

Thus, i need recommendation on which shop should I buy from(the location) and the type of lens suitable for me.

i'm a programmer as such, i have to face the computer every single day. Any recommendation is greatly appreciated. Hopefully it's durable also =(. These scratches are hurting my eyes these day..

And what kind of price range should i be expecting?

I actually did a simple test in-store with a Crizal lens and a normal one; scratch, water and dust. Well there was a difference, a slight difference which wasn't enough to justify the premium paid. The store owner was embarrassed after the test lol.

winner.

Yes, I bought two Korean plastic frames from Kwong Shin. And, very light and comfortable. No slip off problem surprising. The bridge are well designed. Economical and comforable.

Can you share what is the korean brand or do they have quite a few brands to choose from?

competition so fierce that even suppliers & labs are doing shoddy work. Nowadays not only frames are of sub-standard, even reputable frame & lens brand are not very concerned about giving 100% quality. Opticians likewise will still dispense out sub-standard lenses to their customers even if they checked & know that the product not 100% good. Some dont even check at all & just dispense to the customers. So, in this age of bochap & low morale ethnics, i suggest customers not to expect too much. Better still, do not know too much lest you get disgusted by what the harsh truth. They can charge you so much for a pair of frame & lens, whereas the cost price maybe just 10% of what you pay, yet they do not bother to do a good job for you anymore.

that's sad, but no choice. any recommendations in town that stil provide gd optician assessment?

Essilor Optifog lens price about there. Left side need to be RX. if not, Airwear Stock Plus can able to do it. Problem is Airwear have lower clarity (abbe) value.

Ok thanks =D guess i will take this lens then..

But what's the different between this and it's 1.67? Quite confuse by it, since it's only 0.07 different. And will the choice of frame(Half rim, rim-less) etc affect much? Or 1.6 will be good enough?

Also this lens is suitable for computer usage right? As my eyes often get tired and dry after doing work on the computer all day long causing headache =(.

Come to think of it, i had to sleep longer etc after i start to wear spec due to fatigue

wooohooo... that's really imbalance..

EDIT:

Check with some of the spectacle shop... The price are much lower than the RRP o.o
1.6 : 150
1.67 : 170
1.7 : 330

with the only exception being optical 88..quoting a price of 450 o.o. And the salesperson talk to me about Nulux, Nulux EP and Remark and even tell me there's different type of Nulux 1.6 SFT and asked me specially which 1 do i want? ... I am so confused by it...=(.

My dad had an eye surgery to his left eye. He's a cook and his exposes himself to steam and heat, he's going back to work and I want to get him a pair of glasses without degree that is large enough to cover most part of his eyes.

May I know where can I get those?

taking into account you are still a poly student (assuming you are not one of the rich kids), u can just take the cheaper lens rather than going optical 88 which sells frames which are too expensive to an extent i feel is exorbitant. Their normal frame can cost abt $300 alone even after discount & not any special brand or quality. If you need to change your glasses often, i think not necessary for you to get hoya nulux or nulux EP, UNLESS you are telling me that you are rich parents' kid then thats a different story.
