Actually it all depends on the frame you are looking at... ?

If it is a thick plastic frame, i may just consider getting a normal prescriptive lens and tint it.

Thanks, Raptor1.

Never knew I can just tint a normal prescriptive lens. What is the usual cost for such procedure?

Thanks again.

Sorry, can't help you on that as I have never done it myself. Do check with your regular opticians. I have seen other people done it before, hence i know it can be done.

Initial impression of my hoya sft lens is good :)
Seems a tad clearer to my previous specs, brighter (cos newer?) also.

Dust don't seem to stick onto the lens as much as my old CZ lens. Easier to wipe off water /oil too.

how much u made it for? which shop?

I made it at Spectacle Culture, recommended by Seannie for its colleciton of "DUN" frames.
Double Aspheric Transition Lens with SFT coating . If i remember correctly, the SRP for that lens is $750. Most other shops i know sell this lens too.

hi guys, i am wearing swissflex... and an unknown lens...

now this lens lots of scratches, me thinking of making a new better one... but retain my swissflex frame (like the design and weight!)

i am looking at the below brands:

crizal
zeiss
nikon

among the 3 brand... zeiss most ex for me... crizal looks good and dunno about nikon....

my astig quite high... 200-225 like that and degree 700+/800+ for each eye...

hoping to look for a lens that is scratch resistant (i think scratch proof not possible right), fingerprints free, water repellent (not a must)... i think crizal has this?

i got swissflex too. dun u think it keeps sliding down yr head? there was someone who mentioned this too? kinda gives me a headache le everytime got to adjust the specs up my headframe. maybe i shd go down again see if they can adjust my swissflex frames to be tighter??

ByWP. Katong Shopping centre basement 1 got one shop carry quite a comprehensive range. Seng Li also carry them. Lensman @ Compass Point also have.

Currently using a pair, but I find the construction very flimsy. One of the hinges got loose after like 1 mth of using, maybe my face too fat stretching the frame. The rubber at the temple ends not as tight keep slipping out slightly.

IC Berlin construction seem better.

If you looking for more budget one, I recommend you to get the similar budget one, saw it at one of the neighbour shops under the brand Hanes. Made of Ti and from Japan but the finish a bit rougher, comparing the materials, I would go for the Hanes if I seen in earlier. Cheaper and better material. One of the shop I seen have is Chew Optics @ Bishan North Shopping Mall.

You can't tint a normal prescription lens. U buy a tinted prescription lens. AO (American Optics) is one of the most common brand for tinted prescription lens. You can choose almost any colours.

Any spectacle shop will be able to do that.

Depends on what you want and personal perferences.

IC Berlin less colour to choose from, typcially Black, Chrome and Matt...

ByWP has Gold, Chrome, Brown, Blue, Black and Red...

Mykita is made of Ti and has by far the most colour to choose from, got olive green as well.

ByWP frames ranges from 380 - 550 bah. Seng Li gives a good price but not the best.

I mean big Asian nose pads for metal frames.

You mean there are nose pad solutions for plastic frames? I thought plastic ones dun even have removable nose pads...

For plastic frames, they can file off the existing nose pads and refit broader nose pads.
