Hi there,

You mentioned "TomFord", by the way which local optical shop has wide collection or do you purchase online? If yes, which online portal? Thank you very much.

try optical 88 (bigger outlet).

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. I will check later.

By saying (Bigger outlet), did u mean I need to go those bigger outlets? If yes, care to share its locations? Also, I hv visited some optical shops, its price ranges fr >$450 before discount. Personally I feel ex as compared to buying online. Any shop offers better discount? Thanks.

I just got a pair of Serengeti sunglasses from Amazon. When it came, the nose pads were very far apart. I did some adjustments to the nose pads myself and it fitted a little better. However it still doesn't sit very well on my nose and the glasses tend to slide down just by tilting my head down ever so slightly. Is this normal? My nose is a little on the flat side though.

Is it possible to go to a optical shop and ask them to help adjust the nose pads and temples properly so the glasses will fit my face and nose nicely? How much do they usually charge? I do not wear glasses so I can't go to my regular optical shop.

Thanks in advance.

Hi all

It has finally hit me.

Went to Nanyang to ask about changing my lenses for progressive + transition lens (sometimes work outdoors), got a shock when they quoted me $1200+ for the lens alone! :eek:Asked what special lens they are quoting me, told me Zeiss. I walked away.

Any recommendations to get the lens? I am using a 6 yrs old Urban frame and would also consider getting a new frame with lens.

Does anyone know how much is the Tokai 1.76 Bi-Aspherical lens with MSC coating now?

Does the MSC coating comes default with this lens?

Progressive with transition lens is about there especially the better ones. If you are quoted a Zeiss Individual Framefit (which is customise) 1.67 with transition it can cost up to $2k+. A Essilor S series 4D 1.67 with transition is list at $27xx+. Even after some discount it can be pretty expensive.
All those are only lens and no frame.
If you have not made any progressive lens before, try some mid range ones before moving up. Having said that $1200+ may be the slightly above average ones only especially for brands like Zeiss and Essilor.
