For the price with frame is considered OK (on the lower side).
Of course Essilor also have many different type of progressive lens. Essilor low end range of progressive lens start from Liberty and the next range up is Comfort continued with Physio and Ipsio but the last few can actually be replaced by their S Series of progressive lens like Design, 3D and 4D. I always think the entry level of progressive lens from Essilor is the Comfort range. It is good to start from the lower level (also cheaper) and move up. In time you will realized the benefit of the better range of progressive lens.
Wah . Got so many diff types . Definitely mine is the low end range.. Hopefully can last long enough and be comfortable to wear..

noob here looking for specs :(
only used the cheapo neighborhood spectacles.. the coating on my lens are those they will change to a purple or violet tint reflection after long use..

Since i'm leaving the army i want to get a good minimalist design spec with crizal lens.
not sure what difference it makes or how much it makes.. but is it worth the $$$
my budget is max $500 possible?

Any bros with experience in making prescription Oakley sunglasses?

Went down to an authorised Oakley shop in the east, got quoted $780 for prescription polarized lenses for eye patch II, wait time 2 months.

Is that normal?? I understand the 2 months wait time coz need to send back to US to do, but $780?!! Seems damn steep considering it's just the lenses, no frame.

yesterday i go JP, walked into 2 shops.
1st shop, the frame was not the one I wanted but still same series. $480 ray bans. then the lens was around $338, essilor 1.6 transitions zeiss.

then 2nd shop, frame was exactly the one I wanted, $330 ray bans. but the damn lens was $500. he only state zeiss 1.6

i was thinking if I can buy the frame from shop 2, then go shop 1 and buy the lens and ask them fix. you think possible bo?

There is no cheapest shop, if you know what you want you can go around and compare prices. What is important is the optician that is going to fit your glass and his/her advise especially on progressive lens. It can defer even from the same shop.
Beware if you are making high end lens (like Essilor 3D/4D or Zeiss Individual Framefit) as some shop do not have the expertise to advise you properly. They may even try to smoke you by telling you all kinds of rubbish.
Most of the time they will package in a price with frame but since you use your own frame they may not give high discount since lens price are more "fix", some shop may give higher discount percentage depending on your relationship with them.

so where's the cheapest shop to do transition lens ? i got my own frame.

Thanks in advance.

Got my Japonism Projection frame. Really a very high quality frame. Like it very much :)

Anyone knows what does the 2nd pix lens use for?

Time to visit my friendly optician friend.

Looking to get Oakley Racing Jacket sunglasses with prescription lenses. I like the Racing Jackets for sports (running, tennis, biking, etc). Checked out several optical shops for Racing Jackets (without prescription lenses) and its about 600+ SGD while its only about 300 SGD in the US. So now Im thinking of getting the frames from the US. But I still need Oakley prescription lenses from a local optical shop since Oakley does not sell prescription sunglasses lenses online. Any tried to do this? Any idea how much for lenses only?

And for those thinking I should just get normal lenses (non-Oakley), it wont fit the Racing Jackets since they are curved.
