full frame $40 to $300++

from normal 1.56 $40 onwards to $160

half frames or rimless may require 1.6 or impact resistant lenses less than $100 to $248

transitions usually less than $300

queensway have........but dun noe the price.

Ask around? Take the average retail prices ( before discount )
Deduct 30% , that's roughly what queensway can offer. Try to avoid branded stuff above level one unless you know the shop personally

they chop us on the lens mah~

you can always buy unbranded lenses with no coating:s22:

prices are actually dropping all the time
but when people pay more(unless kenna tok carrot) it's almost always for something with more specs
high index
better coating
aspeherical lenses
progressives
back surface progressives
photochromic properties(transitions)

my friend grew up with -8.00degrees and only wore 1.5 uncoated lenses.
it's damn thick and damn cheap

transitions were first sold for $260, non branded photochrome lenses somewhat less
these days due to all the different labs, transitions have places selling them at $120 or lower

you used to hear about people topping up $40 for multicoated lenses, nowadays they get sold at $40 for a whole pair+frames
( i still do the same prices for old folks , and I know places who still do these prices so don't argue that these prices don't exist)

other then a certain lens company, everyone else actually had to list out an actual retail price these days to prove they're honest
and it makes prices go lower all the time provided you don't go for the newer stuff or shop at atas places:s22:

crizal trans was $228 for 1.5
hoya starts around $260(imo harder to scratch, but there's no such thing as scratch proof lenses)

anything higher, has to come with hi index or something else added.

It's called refractive index. In theory, the higher the number the more that particular type of plastic bends light rays, so the less is needed and the lens appears thinner

On whether it's better, like you said, depends on the degree, and cost.
High prescription means sides would be thicker for myopia wearers technically high index lenses reduces distortion and prismatic effects.... but the higher the index you go the lower the optical quality is.. it's more of a balancing thing. If you have like -8.00 you'll definitely find 1.67-1.74 better than 1.6 .

(tag heuers ) If price is a concern, go for a minor authorized dealer, they can be more flexible regarding prices if you know what you want. If it's the satisfaction of the purchase, I'll suggest places with a counter specifically for tag Heuer, like say eyechamp in nex, it's called a shop in shop? Range is bigger, you can see what you're buying , you won't get carrot headed, but no low ball prices either.

Posche and starck serve different markets. Porsche is generally colder, more metallic, looks modern.
Starck has an arty farty look to their glasses. More like modern arts. Porsche buyers tend to be more serious and want to look serious. Starck.... more casual, but is a casual chic thing not T-shirt shorts casual
A few of their designs of uncommon colours in places seen only at a certain angle.

Most labs would have something "better" than Hoya lenses but not in all areas. You can't say something's really better

i think a good compromise if you find 1.74/1.76 too costly is 1.70 from hoya & tokai.

unless your prescription is very high, the difference in thickness is very little.

There are places which sell 1.74 unbranded for less than $300 .
