Btw, how do I tell, if my frequent (once a week) washing with hand soap, is damaging my lens' coating? In fact, may I know how to discern if lens' coating is worn off/damaged?

You won't know if it peels till its peeling

There's a spot that gets bigger, turns into a patch. Sometimes lines
Visit the retailer who sold it to you and see if it can be clean off
I've done it once, it was just a stubborn stain

Upzz for help! Does anyone know how much Hoya 1.6 transition lens will cost? Also, will 1.6 lens fit this kind of plastic frame?

If I'm not wrong, $400+ onwards ? Can't recall exact number

This kind of plastic frame?

Just get a lenses with anti-reflection such as this one Crizal Website

That's just a normal AR lens I believe?
Polarized lenses comes polarized and with AR coating

Ahh.. i was actually wanting to use it for car.. since you said so I believe transitions is more or less useless for me..

For polarized sunglass do i get it from optical shop or ?

Prescription polarized lenses yes. Other wise makes no difference

Anybody heard of this brand mono design eyewear from Korea? The frame is supposedly made of a material known as beta plastic which is very light and flexible?

Beta plastic? Probably similar to tr plastics or ultem
Memory material, you don't get as nice colours as acetate but it's lighter and do not go out of shape that easily

Just sharing . Not sure if it's a good price
I got zeiss 1.6 clarity aspherical Rex sv for 240 dollars.

It's retail price so so if your question is whether you got carrot headed, nope.

If Rex means rx then it's a good price

Bros how you identify hoya lens? I just ordered a pair of ray ban from holiday plaza focus point with hoya 1.6 transition lens for 850 rm, hope that this will be a good deal.

Comes with a card? But some shops keep their own.
Assuming it's like you said its a good deal. If you're that worried lol ask Hoya Malaysia to issue a letter.
They do that here, a letter head with your name, prescription, lenses, receipt number upon request.

Hi, anyone can comment about hoya remark lens with blue control? I am thinking of buying it but dont know whether effective or not in reducing eye fatigue when reading and working with laptop. As remark lens are kinda progressive, would it be difficult to get use to?

I dunno about any "remark" series but I'm having Hoya lens with Blue Control & it does seem to lessen the fatigue I've from staring at monitors for extended period of time. Note though: they will give your lenses a blue tint when light hits them at certain angles (for me, it's most apparent when I'm bending down to wash my hands in the wash room & I see the "blue" in my reflection in the mirror); but no tint when viewed straight on. & not for use cases when you need absolute accurate white balance because the blue control will affect the color balance slightly, but for general purpose use I'll say it is fine (the blue control thingy).

Theory wise, blue light causes fatigue, so their lenses cut off blue light ( that's why you can see blue color )
Not sure if blue control affects the col balance that much, Is it because the lens is slightly yellow?

My bad, could be Azura
What is it anyway?

I have something listed here as azura,
Unless it's tokai?
I'm not too familiar with Japanese lenses beyond Hoya and Nikon (from 2 years back)
But other lenses in the market assuming it's Japanese, tokai ,seiko. Aren't commonly sold.
There's a chance it came from one of the smaller labs too.

Just to clarify. I am not a hyprocrite. I put my $ where my mouth is. I rarely ask for discounts and If i like my optician service products i return to patronise buy more even if i dont have the need to. I condone good products, not just sellable products. Opticians with your kind of know-all attitude i avoid shun and count myself suay if i meet such.

And y shouldnt i call your name as it is? Your name is oldbreadstinks. So isnt it stinking old bread? Just a reversal. Did i call u f$$$ or wadeva rat names? I didnt. Pls see carefully before u accuse me. If u cant see clearly pls get yurself a laohua specs or let other optician check for u first before rambling away here. Call u names? I cant be bothered to. If u hadnt put Dun down in previous posts, i wouldnt even bother to say anyting associated with u.

And when i mention sales quota im not even referring to dun. Im saying japonism 999.9 which capitol used to carry. Pls rewind and see my post again carefully. Dont post just for the sake of posting or trying to act smart. Disappeared for a year and then come back here after a year to reply people questions vigorously here, for obvious reasons. Trying to solicit potential customers thats why. If really so sincere why gone for a long time and only back at this time? Becos u noe that year end is near alot people will be hunting for new specs.

My job is well underpaid. Y shd i ask for a lower pay? U had nothing better to say than this?

And don belittle 8 yr olds nowadays. They are way much smarter than you are.

Considering my "know it all" attitude :s13: I do not think I'm as sure of my comments here as you are of yours. Which still makes you a hypocrite.
You don't see me strongly recommending anything do you.
If fact you're strongly insisting something works .

As for the name calling bit, it's obvious to everyone here. There's a very strong difference between referring to someone by name and emphasizing certain parts then extending them. Insisting otherwise is just " 指鹿为马"

As for replying to me, admit it. The only reason why we keep doing this is because I'm not saying "ok you win" :s13: like the other guys here. We have another one three pages earlier doing so.
Anything else is rubbish.

And the quota thingy, so you believe Capitol as a company gotten pushed off because they couldn't sell? :s13:

Sincerity? I'm here as a pastime. When we talk about this thread, we go
Oh ya, let's see what's inside
We don't self appoint ourselves here :s13: why in the world would anyone come here to do this for business? That's dumb. :s22: in fact takes attention away from your own business
which is really why I think you're delusional. You're simply targeting me because I've offended you by rejecting your views.

On recommendations, I ask what you want, what prices people offer. I give you all that without bargaining. And not at my own business as some have been recommended to :s13: I don't know, maybe you'll start accusing me of getting kickbacks . I'm more interested in occasionally popping in to create good will among people I know.
Makes people happier. Easier to talk to. But of course your personal bias ness towards my trade . I get that. I see people like you often. You like to play tough guys. Rack up the tone, act like you can squeeze my balls.
But really, it's a forum. I come when I'm happy. I don't come when I don't need entertainment.
My trade requires volume :s13: not the kind this place can offer. It's silly to think otherwise
I offer goods for a better deal, create goodwill and try to get something else.
But it's a good suggestion, maybe I should try to ask for business here?

How should I go about it? Maybe call it seannie's special
35% off if 20 people sign up by today?

Well, if I can spend time replying you, it's obvious if I have to reply to your obnoxious remarks towards me it must be somewhat entertaining to keep you sprouting nonsense. No?
So why if you're going out of topic can I not do the same? I didn't realize you have a monopoly on being stupid?

In fact, thinking about it. No one else here even those I see and know "who you are " have Strong emphasis on a particular brand. :s13:

Yes, if the location is not an issue. Unlike a normal Optical shop, they make strong distinctions between different tasks. Sells their own stuff
It's like a MacDonald for glasses

Review of C.C. Optical @ Peace Centre

Review of an apparently new "cheap and good" optical shop at Peace Centre called C.C OPTICAL.

Got a transition lens there made. However, when collection the spectacles, I discovered that the lens were bulging out of the metal frame and grossly out of shape, even though my transition lens had no degrees and were very thin. The lens were not flush with the edges of the metal frame and felt like they were gonna pop out at any moment. I wonder how they cut the lens to fit the frame. By hand? This should not be the case. I have made spectacles with many other Singapore vendors and know how a lens should fit a frame. Even though she quoted a lower price than average for it, I regretted it and asked for a refund. I felt like wasted my time and energy going down there in order to get a good deal. Yeah, her price is lower but workmanship and quality is also lower too. Heard that she got all her frames from her home country in china. Maybe that explains the inferior quality.

Here is a picture of C.C Optical, it's on the ground level of peace centre.

Pls just go away la. Go back to where u belong, stay couped up in your shop and entertain your old customers who will take in everything you have to offer. Dont come here and show your know-all superior boss attitude. Simply sick of it and waste of time to read & rely to people like you. Absolute disgust and degrade.
