Is it worth getting the zeiss or crizal lenses? They cost a bomb at between 200 to 300. That will jack up a 100 frame to 400. Are "regular" lenses any worse in everyday use? I was thinking of going for a luxury brand frame and regular lenses for that 400 dollars since frames last longer.

I just collected my new glasses. First time getting a Zeiss lens instead of a regular one. It really is very good. Everything is crisp and clear. But that could just be because its a new lens.

My Zeiss lens cost 160
Crizal I think its 140.

Depending on your degree I think price varies.

if it's too cheap, then please beware

tag at @175?

Haha thats why.
Regardless, contacted Groupon Singapore on Facebook and was ensured it was authentic but international guarantee card will not be given because the deal is not partnered with Tag Heuer.

I will bring down to any spectacle shop to check its authenticity and if it is not authentic they will do appropriate actions :)

Go for hi index 1.74 plastic lens regular brand will do, no need to those branded lenses. Imo you are mostly just paying for the brand name & advertising dollars. QC wise, if the optical shop staff is good & honest they will check & reject lenses that are no good. Prices keep adjusting higher these days. As consumers, we have to send a strong message to companies who raise prices unreadonably. Cost price of lenses are really low, even if you add in all the costs it shouldnt be so high. Consumers should not let retailers take us for a ride or take us to be fools. We have to stand up for our rights and we yield a lot of power- the purchasing power. So we must exercise this power by avoiding those branded lenses. To me, regular no brands are just as good as branded ones, and even branded lenses may not justify the costs that we are paying, no matter how good.

Regular lenses function abou just as well, just tat becos if does not have a brand people associate such goods as "inferior" which shouldnt be so. If u are toking abt multicoating, all lenses will peel off or get scratched in time. So no fuss about it.

Was quoted $420 for Crizal lens for my degree of 800+ per eye. How much cheaper would no-brand lens be?

"no brand" lens at 1.74 index cost around $190 in some neighbourhood shops. all got basic multicoating.
