i wld say this benefit is not critical
Coz I would like to buy from other companies like fwd or msig. But they allow at most 6 months in advance. So I guess I would give this benefit a miss if I don’t want Singlife.

Between Singlife, Fwd and Msig, which is generally better?

to me, all probably similar

have bought all 3 before, claimed from SL ( recent years) and MSIG ( long time ago )

more recently, usually buy SL bcos of lower pricing with Mindef GTL additional discount

i wld choose the cheapest "middle" tier plan among these 3

Price aside. Coverage and ease of claim.
Actually coverage has to be taken together with price.

have you compared side by side the coverage which 1 you value most vis-a-vis the price?

These are available online, cause different people value things differently.

For claims, might be easier for you to narrow down to which insurer already then can provide experience/opinion

coverage for these 3 shld be similar, not likely to have big differences .. but I can be wrong

"ease of claim" is really case by case ... a easy claim from Insurer A, does not mean it applies for all claims or other similar claims from same insurer ... personally i discount "ease of claim" as a consideration factor

I would look at the wordings particularly for major benefit items that could affect my trip most eg) Med Evac, Travel Cancellation

Planning to get Pre-existing conditions for my next trip. Please advise should I get FWD or Income
for myself and wife? And should I include coverage for Covid-19 as well? Thanks

I made 2 claims with Singlife over a period of 1 year. First one for a damaged bag. Approved and received money within a week. Second one for cancelled trip amounting to $20k. Approved within 3 days and received 20k within 7 days. No questions asked, though i made sure all relevant documents were submitted with my application.

Father had heart attack 3 days before family trip to Ireland.
for this kind of case, only your dad can claim for the cancellation? Or say, your family can also claim/cancel the whole trip as long one person in the group affected??

The whole family for whom the policy has been bought can make the claim, as long as the person falling seriously sick is related to the family and the person falling sick need not be part of the travelling group.

MSIG have 55% off.
Promo period 12 to 16 Sep 2024.

I remember a few days ago, it was 40% off. Guess this 40% was the normal "rate".

How do they define seriously sick? Hospitalised?

I bought MSIG ins on 7 July for vietnam trip in dec, airtix bought 1 mth later. Going to hanoi, sapa with hotels booked, longer period in sapa than hanoi.

But due to typhoon directly hit sapa and alot affect that will take long time to repair, any clause in it to compensate for flight change to hcm, danang or other countries?
