On top of the fun shells I've received lately, I also have a few fun projects I've made.



I also finished up a Black Nile Crocodile and Black English Bridle Bifold (for someone here I believe!) last night. Very pleased with how it turned out.

I figured I'd take an opportunity to share something pretty rare. I visited Horween a few months ago and saw some very, very rare calfskin they had sitting around.

This particular calfskin is over 70 years old. It was tanned in the 1940s but Horween lost the recipe. They no longer tan calfskin and have yet to find the original recipe.

I was lucky enough to acquire some of this and made a wallet out of it. No current plans for this leather but it is absolutely beautiful for 70 year old leather. It is soft and supply and has fantastic texture.

Horween Glazed Natural Shell Cordovan Exterior. Horween 1940s Natural Calfskin Interior.

Horween Black Shell Cordovan 4 Slot Buckler. Black Thread. Black Edges. Finished up nicely!

Heng Long Chestnut Saltwater Crocodile Moneyclip Wallet. Interior is made from the Horween 1940s Natural Calfskin. Very pleased with how this turned out!

If anyone ever has any questions related to leather, shell cordovan or otherwise, please let me know. I am an open book and willing and eager to share my knowledge. I've messed around with shell cordovan from basically all the tanneries (Rocado SRL in Italy, Rocinante in Argentina, Shinki Hikaku in Japan, Clayton & Sons in the UK, Horween in the USA, Conceria Cloe in Italy, etc.).
