for custom wallet, is 6 cards or 8 cards recommended? and is note divider recommended?

aim is to keep the wallet slim and sleek.

I don't think there's a recommended or not. It's whether you need the additional card slots and note divider. If can live without it, and you want slim, of course will be better with 6 card slots and no divider. Personal considerations and decisions that only the owner can decide.

will divider and additional 2 card slots make the wallet thicker? or the diff is negligible ?

I would say card slot is negligible in thickness but it makes the wallet larger, while note divider is noticeable in thickness but not in dimensions.

It really depends on the individual hide and how clean it is. Generally the cleaner, the nicer, but the more expensive. But things like colour or glossiness is really individual preference. Personally, I'm quite in love with matte navy.

Then there's also custom handpainted crocs which can be extremely stunning...like the blue/black one I posted from quite a while back

Thanks Spencert. I have ordered an Italian shell. Was wondering how much more for a Horween shell. Seems like no difference. Should have gone for the Horween shell.

Sorry missed this one. Same price for Horween Shell. Just that Italian Shell has more colours. Horween only black and burgundy (#8). If you had chosen either colours, probably better to go for Horween. But if you chose other colours then no Horween option. Maybe just her stock issues.

This is matte navy, but very hard to photograph. See in person will be more accurate, as the colour changes depending on the light.

And this is glossy navy.

I haven't actually made anything with glossy croc, but I would say for guys, matte is usually nicer. Durability wise, glossy is better.

Interesting. I thought glossy would be harder to maintain given it will lose its sheen over time?

Jmicheal leatherworks?

Hi all,

About to make a purchase on a shell cordovan wallet and wanted to get your opinion on the quality and craftsmanship before I seal the deal.

What is the general consensus on jmicheal leatherworks from Ashland, Oregon USA?

I made my own wallet using bridle leather. The trainer did the cutting and I did the sewing (countless), brandishing, gluing and punching of holes.

Had never heard of them. Thanks for the recommendation!

I was just checking them out, but each wallet only has 4 pictures at a fair distance.

Wiz- is that wallet from jmicheal leatherworks, or are you only referring to shell cordovan in general being "ok"?

I was under the impression that shell was the best wallet leather you could get, without getting into the exotic hides.
