Everyone is selling premium sir. No one selling at retail. A high premium. I don't want to use specific numbers but it's extremely high.

Retail less than SGD17,00 but selling 20+

and it's not the first time they pulled such stunt by purposefully pumping up the marketing into overdrive and restricting supply at the same time.

from what i gathered. they did that to the explorer I during the late 90s and again when their green crystal milgauss was launched.

of course irrational herd mentality is also to be blamed.

the prices will go back to saner levels once supply downstream satisfy demand in few years time.

Interesting design for Everest watch

i haven't read enough about this watch, but here're some of my initial impressions:

- their logo is way too ornate/busy/distracting for any watch, much less a tool watch.
- good luck to them planning to charge usd4,400-4,600! there're already many high quality offerings below that price range with established history like aquadive, with many desirable classic collectors' watches in the pre-owned market that can be had with less than that!
- the 304m is just visually distracting in an annoyingly anal-retentive way. keep it to 300m.
- they should make the silver border around the date aperture more narrow in keeping with the hour markers and keep the bevels slimmer. better yet, fill the date window with matching lume of the hour markers if they insist on putting it in the 6 o'clock position for better dial symmetry.
- there's already "swiss made" at the bottom of the dial. putting "swiss chronometer" again is o_0. use "automatic chronometer" or just "certified chronometer" instead.

It's called a deployant clasp. Most likely available in 18, 20 and 22mm. You need to measure your strap to know what size to get.

i was actually quite taken by doxa 300 50th anniversay limited edition, and was even toying with the idea of getting a full set: professional + sharkhunter + searambler.

in my research on ocean7, i was just made aware that they, along with doxa, only extend warranty to the original purchaser.

Effective November 1st, 2008 DOXA Warranties will no longer be transferable to future owners of a previously purchased/owned DOXASUB. The warranty will only be valid for the original purchaser/owner – i.e.the individual named as the owner with the service center. http://www.doxawatches.com/faq.html

while i understand this was probably done to encourage sales of new watches/discourage re-sale, i detest such business practices.

i firmly believe that warranty should follow the product and not the original owner if the product is indeed worth the warranty.

correct me if i'm wrong, but at least brands like rolex has transferable international warranty.
