that doxa le looks great...except that i have an orange sumo, and never felt completely at ease with the colour. could be psychological...as i do have a rescue orange g shock twin sensor that i like.

wow. the orange sumo is a rare watch indeed! oop for don't know how long already iirc.

actually he's not a deep diver, WR depth is not priority
Seiko 1000m is super overkill haha..
Rolex design is similar to NEDU but price is double!


i thought NEDU seems a bit big for his wrist liao but he like big watches leh
so I'm looking at similar watchface size

if really cannot find similar ones to compare, then.. ok lo NEDU, confirm safe

but if you need emergency funds, you can still liquidate your rolex with far lesser losses compare to ball watches.

one way to compare is to look at the re-sale value of the watch you have in mind.

not that you need to or wish to sell your ball but it's good to know you made a wiser decision when your purchase retains better value in the long run, especially when you're willing to splash high 4 figures for a watch.

do note that ball's tritium gas tubes glow weaker than superluminova lume, and will die in 25 yrs.

omega SPEEDmaster only has 50m water resistance. only good for accidental light splash while handwashing.

if he wears his watch to shower, swim or even dive, he'll need an ISO rated diving watch with a screw-down crown and minimum 200m water resistance.

you can consider omega SEAmaster planet ocean for its size and heft. however the chronograph versions of the seamaster PO may bust your budget a bit.

Some breitling models are around there. Chronomat are above 10k but those like avenger and colt are about 7k+ msrp.
