your wife is right.

your choice:
1. 10 watches bought at $1,000+ each but can't even fetch $500 at re-sale, vs
2. 1 x rolex sub-date at $10,000+ which can easily resell for $8,000+

your call.

I would definitely go option 1. I get to explore different watch styles and decide what i like best. Yes i might lose in terms of resale but i would have gained valuable experience in watches.

For the matter i dont think there are many watches at the 1k mark which you cant get back half its value.

And no offense to people who prefer option 2, but i generally think that ppl who just go for 1 big purchase watch alone are just buying it for the branding and to show that they 'made it' in life.

Like life, its very hard to know what you want from the get go...

On the OS, yes it might not have great resale value, but if you dont intend to sell it, does it matter?

My 2 cents

Happened to see the seiko SARY055 today and man it's really not a bad watch for the money. Decent movement decoration tho it's just a 4R36. Was going at 400 plus at h2 hub. In your experience Dai Gors, is there a big diff between 4r36 and 6r15? Seems rather difficult to find JDM seikos in sg... Btw are Big Time prices competitive? Thanks for all the info bros. really kena poison deep by seikos this time!

a562140 dai kor, what's your take on the Doxa Sub 300 Professional 50th Anniversary Edition? or have you ordered yours already? thanks...

one of those with good history and consistent character and design brands that don't cost a bomb that i look up to. been admiring the vintage pieces from afar; good to see the reissue anniversary models are staying very close.

doxa is one that i've been watching closely for a long time. however i remain undecided about the design which features a lot of case which i think won't look nice on my skinny wrist.

the bead of rice bracelet and crystal design, and bezel in feet not meters makes it faithful to the original and the 50th ann model a collectible - buy one if you can !:s12:
