Haha wondering if u are the guy with many vintage Rolex at k2 when I swing by hahah

I bought the second last and the one u saw probably bought the reserved set in the glass cabinet hehe

Anyone tried out the SD4000 before? I'm curious as to how much smaller it wears compared to a SubC, although it's thicker.

I don't think the modern speedy hands and dial will develop patina, unless you have a 1980s one?

Everything ages... but whether luminova will develope the similar patina like tritium...it's too short of a time to see the results since the first luminova is used in late 90s - 2000, general consensus is that it is unlikely.
My seamaster from 2001 is turning slightly yellowish though, not optimistic it will turn creamy like my rolex.

Speaking of patina...

Before and after using sulphur treatment on my bronze watch :D
"After" pic is darker than real life due to my iPhone skills

Let me know if you need more details. I used to have a 114060, now wearing 116600

Wears the same, but SD bracelet longer extension. SD has helium valve. SD has elevated crystal. SD dial is matte vs Sub gloss. SD bezel is more "complete" and date function lastly

Did you use los? Might have soaked it for too long. Los works very fast and need to soak in baking soda water to control the oxidization. Bronze is really fun to play with.

哈~~~無啦~~~=:p
師兄。。。

Thanks for that. I read that the SD has a L2L of 46.25mm while the Sub is 48mm with wider case lugs. This makes me think that the SD will wear smaller and thus suit my smaller wrist. Since you wore both before, which do you prefer? Lastly, do you find the contrast between the matte dial and the glossy ceramic bezel too much?

My Zimbe is finally here!

PSA: my own experience, originally wanted to buy from this guy, "Dave Tan" from SCS facebook group posted that he has 10pcs for pre-ordering, and paid 50% deposit. He had multiple delays so I had asked for my refund on the deposit, but he came back with lame excuses. In the end I got it back with threat of police report, I left a bad feedback comment his FB post, he deleted it after I posted. Wasted my time, and the Zimbe price went up due to being sold out quickly. Really is *******... so caveat emptor if you see his post for pre-order.

Yes I wanted a really intense patina with green/blue hues, so I whack a concentrated mix (50% water and gel), and left it overnight

This is my inspiration, the Halios guy actually put it in for 2 days in pure LoS gel.. :s22:

Any close up on your right shot?

I try later, my iPhone shots are bad at close range

The lugs part doesn't bother me that much. Both watches will look fine on our wrists. I think only Deep Sea it will really make the size stand out.

As I said before. For the price point 114060 is the quintessential Rolex. Wears well in most scenarios. Good movement. Good quality material. if I could turn back clock. Won't sell.

I think the matte looks better. But all these cosmetics are very personal taste. A purist would say Sea Dweller for diving.

I would encourage you to wear both and decide before buying. From what you have described. I suspect the Sea Dweller is your choice :)
