trust me bro Thai_Rak_Thai dai kor, marriage is way, WAY over-rated. watch nirvana >> wife/gf.
a watch will never:
- trap/annoy you by asking you "do i look fat in this?"
- nag at you.
- say "sorry dear, i've a headache / time of month is here / etc".
- say no to you.
- make you wear green hat.
- betray you.
- judge you.
- clog up your closet with expensive clothes, shoes & bags that it hardly wears.
- say "your money is our money; my money is MY money".
- fade in beauty / droop / sag / grow fat / become fugly but gain in patina & value.
- disrespect your parents/family.
- have mood swings / pms.
- scream / shout / undermine you in front of others / your kids.
- overspend her cc limit on frivolous makeup, shiny, expensive trinkets like diamonds, expensive bags/shoes.
- change.
- expect you to change.
a watch will always:
- tell you the time reliably if you take good care of it.
- be faithful to you.
- be there when you need it.
- bring a smile to you face when it greets you as you open your watch drawer / safe / box.
- be a sign of your good taste, refinement and sense of style.
- help complement you in your various roles, identities and adventure as you rotate among your resin quartz gshocks through to your pilots, divers, dress, chronographs, military field watches, perpetual calenders, tourbillions, minute repeaters, etc
- be part of your identity as a refined, cultured, dignified gentleman of good taste and proper decorum.
- feel good on your wrist.
- remind you of man's ingenuity in engineering and crafting a highly accurate, tight tolerance, mechanical marvel with a beating heart on your wrist.
ps. for happily married, contented bros here, i salute you cos you're a rare breed. feel blessed and be grateful.
congratulations on your good, fine taste my young impatient-mpcdude bro! and also getting your pink IC back. going local u or overseas?
the no-date subC is THE watch to buy for the serious, hardcore rolex collector!
here's my short write-up about the different types of rolex for different types of people: http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/e...y-new-watch-hoot-5528482-8.html#post105345200
what's the pelagos LHD? the 5-liner dial with in-house movement? i much prefer pelagos I with 2-liner dial and lume pip at 3 o'clock. less busy and more balanced looking. it's a pity that it uses eta 2824-2 with only a 38-hour power reserve. would've been better if it's equipped with the chronometer grade eta 2892-A2 though.
Wahhhh uncle TT, salute u can wot on marriage topic... come i clap for you... lol!!!![]()

Thanks a lot! I'm heading to NTU next June.
The Pelagos LHD is a new Pelagos that was launched last month. Right now there are waiting lists for it locally unless you wanna pay above retail. It has very cool creamy beige indices which gives the watch more depth, a red Pelagos font which harks back to vintage Rolex submariner and takes away some of the clutter on the dial optically, and my favourite feature is the roulette date wheel. Even dates are in red while odd dates are in blck. It also has a unique destro crown. Each watch is also individually numbered on the caseback. The reason I'm thinking of trading to this is so that there is less overlap with my SubC. And I can't bear to part with a Pelagos because I love the Pelagos series! So I'm trading a Pelagos for a Pelagos!
Here is a pic of it:

Cheers bro!
the pelagos lhd got potential! and i shall spare you the usual snarky tony stark gif cos you're really a nice chap and it's getting old & hackneyed (but never say never, hor! it may strike again soon!)
why ntu? so damn ulu! because it got the discipline you want? why jostle with the ah tiong & ah neh crowd that's getting it all FOC including tuition, room, board, allowance etc from hapless taxpayers like us?!
why never try some ivy league uni? i'm confident you family can afford it.brand name uni damn important in opening doors and the alumni connection is invaluable. too bad uncle too old, too poor & too lousy grades to apply my own advice.

Congratulations on your graduation. You deserve a new watch to commemorate this achievement. I recommend the Reverso, and you can engrave the back
NTU is 10mins from my house only haha! Nah and my grades not that stellar to enter Ivy League.
I also saw that NUS has a horology club where the members even have exclusive invites to boutique events etc. I'm seriously thinking of creating one when I enroll in NTU! Afaik NTU does not have one!
Seeing your Mako brings back memories of mine. The blue dial Orient Mako was my first ever automatic which I bought from Amazon for only $80!
Thanks for the motivation bro! Yup my goal in uni is to get FCH! Preparing to chiong all the way liao! And also distance was a factor but not the main one haha. NTU allows me to straightaway start with the course I'm interested in. NUS on the other hand makes me spend a year in some general course which is good for some but not for me.
Once again thanks bro! Feeling more inspired now!

don't forget your first degree probably helps in the foundation years of your worklife - what comes next depends on your attitude.
