Yup that was what I thought so too, was asking for my GF's sister. End up she hoot a Citizen Ecodrive for $200 cos she likes it. Brought her to Gnomon and whack a black NATO strap. She really deciding between Orient and the Citizen sia.

one watch guy? depends if you've been poisoned. :s13:

but if you're a regular guy not into watches as a hobby, just get the "end-game" watch for the masses ie. rolex and be done with it.

overpriced for its intrinsic value & build quality, but you get a social status symbol and good re-sale value to protect your investment, so that evens out.

a gmt master II would actually be more useful if you travel through different time zones, but i hate the newer, fatter, squashed-up, fugly, busy-looking numerals on the bezel. i prefer the more elegant, dignified & cleaner font used on the aluminum bezel of the previous generation.

the sub has greater depth rating (not that it matters as it sits on wrists of desk divers 99.9% of its time) but more importantly for comfort, it has a glidelock mechanism clasp that can adjust the bracelet diameter as your wrist expands through the day.

as always, choose what please you. after all, you're paying for it.

wear the watch. don't let the watch wear you. and definitely NOT for others.

price difference is in the warranty offered by agent.

AD = have agent warranty

non-AD = no AD/agent chop on warranty booklet => bigtime (orient's agent in sg) will not honor. they'll still repair it - just that have to pay, as good as no warranty / warranty expired liao.
