Recently feel like the 40 hour reserve on my SNZH is feeling more like a 4 hour reserve.

Also noticed this on what I think is the gear that is linked to the mainspring, what looks like two semicircle gouges.

This is a pre-owned watch, dated 2014 based on serial number, and I have never dropped it but ditto about the previous owner.

What gives?

bracelet's on my Z series 16570T is good: SELs, solid links. only let down by the period correct stamped metal clasp.

paid rolex price for SELs, solid links... but get stamped metal clasp.

i prefer metal bracelets in our hot, humid, sticky, sucky climate. so will be wearing it on the bracelet. A light polish done professionally or even DIY carefully with a cape cod cloth should bring the bracelet back to its clean, sexy, LNIB condition.

16570 z series with chapter ring? some fortunate ones have found an upgraded 3186 movement inside.

I called our favourite K2 Watch Co this afternoon, they wouldn't quote me anything even for "a basic service" until I brought the watch down.

I work like, 7 days a week (that is not an exaggeration) and I legit have no time except on off-days which are fleeting moments.

So how much can I expect to pay, based on you guys' expertise, for the following situations:

- There's nothing wrong with the watch and it's in for service (like, a lube and gaskets, sort of like oil and filters for your car kind of thing)

- There's something wrong with the rotor/mainspring/mainspring gear and it needs replacement of 1-2 parts

I saw that someone (overseas) had his SKX go bad on him and it turns out the mainspring died - he paid all of $15 for a 7S26 mainspring plus fitting and it was good to go again, but this is Singapore so let's be realistic.

I don't want to find out that I'll have to spend the equivalent of one new SNZH to fix this one, lol

I vote Seiko for the fact that it's got horological history.

Not to be all douchey and whatnot but Sevenfriday's like the mechanical MVMT.
They aren't bad but they're just... Fad brands.

just servicing i think about $80-120? seiko parts are quite cheap, and its faster/cheaper to replace damaged parts vs repairing.

for comparison, he overhaul/regulate my vintage omega plus replace the glass for a total of $180

The previous owner has never serviced it, and neither have I. Really weird though if this comes from factory.
If it's just cosmetic and doesn't affect the workings of the watch then I won't bother with it at all.

For a vintage with crystal replacement that's really cheap.

So I guess I won't be paying that much for a cheapo Seiko service since most people mention if you bring your parts there for him to install, he will include a service in the cost of installation?

Just get a quote. Am sure he will let you know the costs and whether you are ready to pay before he service it.

I will go down eventually, am paying for him to put a new dial, bezel insert, and full hand set on the SNZH, so we'll see what the total price comes to for him to do all that plus service and regulate.

I just hope nothing's broken.

If I give the watch a good shake, the rotor still spins nicely and quietly so I've got that going for me.

Just isn't as smooth as the Orient.

I really don't think it's possible to stuff it under the cuff to be honest.

You want a stuffable diver, it won't be a Tuna.
