Hi Guys! I'm thinking of getting a first Panerai (no particular model as of now but Budget is 8k max and waist 44m). Is it better to buy from boutique directly or buy from AD like cortina or buy from like Chuan watch? Thanks!

check out all the models first - sooooo many to choose from. sometimes very subtle changes from one to another.

the problem is that if it happens to be a limited edition model, you will have little no choice but to get a used one e.g search "dot 233K "

I don't think I can get limited edition model with my budget though..I am thinking of just buying from Sincere or HourGlass since it's my first pam and I don't know how to check authenticity if buying from grey sellers..

revised budget: one watch a MONTH. =:p :D

this is so disturbingly true... and very damaging on the wallet! :(

would be lucky you did.

people online has been talking up the 40mm polar explorer II for couple of years now. it's more popular than its black dial brother (individual taste aside). and for very good reasons: it's one of only 2 white dial rolex tool watch (the other being the milgauss); it's just so darn legible; and the dial just pops. just walk into any 2nd hand shop and you'll find it less readily available.

the 40mm polar exp II has been underpriced relative to other rolex sports watches. there was a time when the prices of the exp II and the GMT master II were close. the polar exp II FS prices have risen over these past few years. but look at what how GMT master II prices have spiked spectacularly. it's a matter of time the discontinued 40mm polar exp II prices rise to match the rest of the sports series.

so unless you need to track 3 timezones simultaneously with an external rotatable 24 hr bezel like the GMT master II, you still get a bona fide traveller's GMT watch where you can adjust the hour hand upon landing without stopping the seconds hand (thus interfering with timekeeping), and the SAME 3185 movement as the GMT master II!

better get it now before the herd mentality causes its price to spike up. i voted with my wallet and did.

or you can consider the sword hands, white wave dial, 2538.20 omega seamaster GMT chronometer "great white". oop for a decade. but imho, very collectible and potentially profitable as a full set. :D

Bro, you drinking too much kool aid already. Other than the Daytona that was mentioned. yachtmaster 2 also got white face. Less executed color is like hulk.
