Hi guys, not a watch expert here.
(Beo beo beo but never dare to buy any expensive watch)

I'm in Tokyo, Japan now and would like to ask what watch is good to buy and resell fast in singapore for a quick profit.
Not sure where to buy too, except the obvious authorised dealers in ginza and etc, so any suggestions on better places would be welcome.

Thinking of getting a patek to bring back singapore to sell, but my budget is only roughly 115k SGD
Any one who can provide me with some guides?

Thanks guys... ^.^

Sounds like you are not a regular flipper so you got also to think how you going to sell. People buy the seller , not the watch. I'd be warry buying a 100k watch from someone with no history. Do you have friends who are resellers whom you can piggy back on?

Should have make friends with grey dealers to buy my watches and save taxes. Rofl.

buy from overseas AD even better. save on GST and can claim back VAT if buy from EU. wear watch on wrist. keep paperwork, manuals, etc in your coat pocket. send empty boxes back via mail. profit. :D

Will be interesting to hear your updates on your maiden watch-flip journey.

Recommend you PM GX to learn (probably some tips may not be appropriate to share openly) and minimize your chances of slip-ups.. assuming if he is happy to share.

Interesting. Wonder why u so determined to flip watches when you say you dont know much about watches. Maybe test water first and not throw in 100k? Unless money is no object.:s8:

Luckily everyone here is kind and no trolling.

Cannot imagine if everyone advised him to put all that $ into a patek or two.

Watch technician at Liat Towers just walked out so waiting for him to return. Pic before rubber is replaced by steel.

IIRC if u buy from Japan rolex they will send you the card and/or the watch.

Watches were cheaper in japan due to the exchange rate back in 2015 june. 1.08. These days dun think so.

finally put this on rubber. I like the watch head but don't fancy the polished bracelet.

Riding on the Japan topic, what's a good place to see watches in Tokyo? May have to travel for a semi work trip - conferences etc, so don't know if there's time, but if there is and not too difficult to get to I'd like to try to go have a look. I understand I'll be around the the suidobashi train station.

Thanks!

Are we driving the same car? Mine is an S300...awesome if we are!

alamak yes my darling. u posted your aquanaut with the steering wheel and then i followed with my nautilus on the steering wheel and then another one or two guys followed.....the patek and S-class train. we really have similar taste. I also had the FC worldtimer.....i keep wondering if you had the one I sold to a young indon chap from an investment bank.

been driving this for quite a few years already, left 2yrs+ only. served us well. no complaints. But airmatic changed before. sensors changed. some other small things also. it's heavy. for similar depre I had been wondering if I should have bought the 7 series as it runs on turbo. shrugs.

they say that travelling in the S class is so comfy that it actually lowers your heart rate. kind of true. been a very passive driver just go with the flow, take my time, and cruise control whenever I can. I don't really feel the famous "magic carpet ride" or maybe mine does not have that feature? not sure if it is an option.

the usual
just google bah. directions on the respective websites.

jackroad and jillroad at nakano broadway, nakano station. take the JR chuo line towards shinjuku from JR suidobashi (not the metro ok?) and alight at nakano station.
there is a GMT watch store at shinjuku
houseki hiroba (everyone calls it HOUSE kihiroba but NOOOOOO!!!! it is Hou-se-ki Hiroba which means precious stones atrium; just my OCD) at shibuya
seikos, G shocks, orient, etc at the yodobashi cameras or bic cameras all around the cities

btw when will u be there? I have a free day or two while in Nagoya and Tokyo.
