rolex screwed with & made a number of initial skyD buyers upset. the skyD was initially released in PM only. thus, along with the DD, the understanding is they'll be PM only watches.

at basel this year, rolex announced skyD will be avail in s/steel and 2-tone, adversely impacting on its image & exclusivity.

for whatever reasons, despite its innovative technology, somehow the skyD's popularity didn't take off. could be the price vs image thing. for the $70k asking price, people could turn to more exclusive brands like AP, PP, etc.

so with plenty of skyD movements lying around, rolex had to come out with a strategy to move its huge stockpile. maybe.

As you know Panerais are worn big, but ladies get away with it better somehow. That's 45mm right? Maybe go for 44m Luminors with tapered lugs?

Hmm... nice watch, just not so keen on the presage logo.

Seiko is also abusing their prospex logo. In the past prospex meant something. Now entry level watches also have the professional specifications logo.

But yeah, the Presage range used to have Sapphire and an uprated movement as one of their selling points, and it meant something.

I'm not sure a 4R35/36 is a huge selling point at all, and if this new CT doesn't have Sapphire glass then it's a bit pointless...

Not to forget that the prices are either going to stay at, or increase from original CT prices.

I still haven't decided which colour to buy yet...

On stock strap the rose/black looks great, but if I were to use that leather I have lying around then clearly the SS/cream w/ blue hands looks far more suited - vintage all the way.

besides case diameter, a watch lug-to-lug length plays a significant part in how it wears as well.

a 44mm watch with short lugs like the pam 112 base sandwich wears comfortably on wrist because there's little overhang.

an extreme example is the seiko tuna with no lugs, which is wearable even when on paper, its case diameter seems huge.

otoh, a smaller watch with significant overhang from long lugs sticking out over your wrist would not only feel but also look uncomfortable on wrist.

good observation re: the 4r35/36.

4r36 - can found on cheaper seiko 5 range. yet are used in PROSPEX seiko turtles. though seiko didn't charge a premium over a seiko 5, it cheapens the PROSPEX branding.

the dial of the older CT (and the sumo SCUBA for that matter) looks less cluttered without the PRESAGE and PROSPEX logos respectively.

excellent find! must have taken you some effort to hunt this rare bird, especially since it's not on your radar. those who's been aiming for a full set electric blue should snag it asap! hey, excellent flipping opportunity for you!

this is what you should've done: full open disclosure with link, which you didn't do in your PM to me about the pam 112.

an excellent bro here already PM me regarding the pam 112 with the full url WAY before you did.

USA sellers tend to insist on FedEx aka FedUp. the costly courier charges PLUS mandatory GST means this watch is closer to $2.5k or more.

the price of my full set electric blue is already cheaper than the link you posted. which makes mine a better deal EVEN IF GST was included!

can purchase at any seiko AD, right? they just have to order for you, no?
