You are very knowlegable in Rolex vintage. Can you share if you know about 90s watches with common issues of different levels of patina between dial markers and hands due to different suppliers?

Which gmt is better in your opinion 16750 16700,16170 or 16760? Thanks for sharing!

Anyway what is your criteria for better? Better = more rare or better functionality or better re-sale value

a authentic bracelet can go upwards of 2k for vintage.

i suggest getting the bracelet. if you're not selling it, no box and papers doesn't matter.

thanks. i probably will not sell it. will be keeping it for my offsprings. intending to use it as my everyday watch...and probably will not be using the bracelet. will be using leather strap or rubber. thus in kinda delimma which 1 to get. hmmmm.

Seems like u are already more bias towards the watch only.. my 2 cents is that the oyster bracelet is integral to the entire rolex package. Certainly getting one w/o bracelet for vintage pieces is understandable.. but for a current production model.. weird..

Both explorer models aren't exactly that rare to wait out for a complete set and if it is intended for heirloom, i would certainly choose to wait out till a full set comes along

i quite like the 14270 too. but too bad it isn't the older version with tritium. guess i will have to think & wait a little longer. hope for a good bundle to pass by.

First thing.. I am a noob too. my "knowledge" of vintage rolex is selective.
GmT models w markers that use white gold surrounds.. U may know more then i do!

I only know thet have names like the fat lady.. the transistional 16750.. the "stick dial"..

Another thing.. rolex later than the 80s are completely not on my radar. (With the patrizzi 16520 an exception!)

Like i mentioned.. not that ppl dont share.. but the "universe" is really too big.

Friend, you really need to do your research and buy what u like to keep!

congrats on scoring the iconic green alpinist, bro cyberet! next target: the oop cream dial red alpinist with the high-beat 4s15 movement!

maybe you can try this to capture watch lume:
- find a dim room (keep a look out for bro yattokame, just in case ) or just in your car in a dark car-park,
- energize your watch dial with a good blast from your camphone LED lights,
- fire up your camphone in manual mode,
- pump up ISO to 1600 or 3200,
- focus and release shutter!

if you wish to show a bit more detail, you can side-lit the watch with a soft angled light source, maybe shield your car interior lights with a tissue*.
