let me burst that bubble for you.
AP and PP = preowned hardest to move.
Why? People who decides to spend a great deal of money on a watch, they will either keep it or have the experience of buying from the boutique. (for benefits like event exclusive invites, relationship etc etc).
The amount of people that are into AP and PP gets smaller and smaller. The pool of your potential buyers gets really small.
Those people who tells you its easy to sell, u ask them what crack they smoking. Maybe can sell, tank huge losses. Initial brand new watch prices that gets higher, the losses is higher. for example, Lange 1, sold for 80k brand new, wear alr sell how much? 50k? 40k? even sell at 60k u also need tank 20. Aqaunuat 5167, buy 25k, if heng, really heng, can sell maybe 23k if condition good. The lowest i seen ever is 18k = smelly also 3-4k losses (this is easier to sell because entry level patek, very different from 5712. 5712, waiting list so long means everyone no hurry, wants to buy brand new.)
unless you're got the funds to tank then by all means.
another method is source for preowned, wear alr, sian sell. minimise losses (sure take some time to sell).
wear alr, damn shiok, wanna buy new one to keep, sell the preowned, then find new one.
resale fast = ROLEX, AP RO, Diver, AP ROO 42mm (alot in the market floating around and all below 19k easy)
AP ROO 44mm (rare bird, hard to move)
PP 5712 - why u wanna sell? pls don't.....
That's my strategy for buying watches with limited funds, you can no need follow me.
if you don't care about people, then i will say go PP, it makes WIS drool and u wear alr knowing its a patek, a class above all = ultimate satki.
