If you are eyeing one, highly encourage u to get one. Rolex daytona cronograph movements comes from the Zenith el primero. Which says a lot about the quality of that movement. And Jean Biver has set his sights on turning around Zenith.

He has got a historian to trace the history of Zenith so that he can properly market this under-appreciated brand. Following which, he will then raise prices on Zenith.

If u cannot afford a rolex daytona, a zenith el-primero is a really good buy....If i remember correctly, the omega speedmaster movement is a modified ETA, but the el-primero movement is all original from its own design.

I think u remembered wrongly. Please get your facts right before making claims.

Bought it to share with my GF. Day 1 within an hour she has smashed it against the MRT railing 3x due to the thickness of the casing and she's not used to it :s22:

Need some opinion on some laojiaos here ... Looking at the preowned market for Sinn U1 watches, have some decent deals... I understand that servicing might be an issue, anything else to look out for? Or anywhere can I service it apart from THG?

It has a very common movement that can be serviced most watch makers. Don't worry about it

To add on, K2 or just about any other competent watchmaker can do it! No worries at all. Do remember to check the condition of the external AR coating under good lighting. Preowned, older pieces may have cases of it wearing off or with water stains, quite unsightly. Also just do a quick check that all the bezel screws are in place.

This watchmaker took apart an omega. It has a modified ETA inside.
