I prefer black generally, all my watches are black dial but when I was contemplating a rose gold one, white or blue or lighter colour seemed to add to the refined look of rose gold. However in your caae its a gold or goldish dial which lacks some contrast,making the gold overpowering unless thats what he likes.

Nevertheless Black dial is always the safer choice.. but everyone say the new 116500 White dial better. Even this official video, they use white dial.

People say this video and sound damn power, see liao make people gian white dial.

yes, talk to the boutique manager to work out a deal. AD are not allow to sell premium. you can try but I think will be very very hard to go the premium route. Not many willing to risk their job for that few k..

might as well go grey.

AD used to be able to sell at premium but then Rolex drop hammer say cannot, official email. cause people complained.

so right now, the only sports model u see on display will be
Explorer 2 black, white
Explorer 1
Milgauss all 3 colors,
Two Tone Sub, that ugly YM2
Or those full precious metal pieces.

Even black deepsea is a rare bird.

so in conclusion, SG ADs for rolex are all jokes.

Typical fashion is (what i guess).
AD receive stocks, cannot sell premium and they know its hot.
doing business, standard, profit first. So offload to grey at a premium.
But the premium is not high enough till grey cannot earn.
So grey will up price, sell to people like us who is supposed to go buy from AD.

maybe some AD, to prevent kena complain, they bring out a piece or two on display, you heng u spot it, no discount. no need talk.

if you buy alot alot from them or they like your yandao face, they call you up ask u want anot.

waiting list is a joke but i still put, waiting for a miracle to happen.

still we need grey dealers in the market. but who is controlling the prices is AD, not even rolex.
They sell to grey, grey need to tan jiak, so up price.

grey also get their fair share of stocks overseas, people will bring in sell them or got supplier from overseas, so overseas AD stock will be slightly cheaper.
but the vicious cycle continues....

white dial got contrast, black is just black lor. haha

white prices is always higher than black for this model.

price stablised few months back at 23-24k brand new
now shoot back to 25-26k

My friend managed to walk into Rolex Cortina at Marina Square last weekend and score a Sub no date at retail price. No waiting list, no pay premium game. Quite surprised considering the Sub shortage nowadays, but feel happy for him!
