Gxgx! I have mine for a while now. Great every day watch but a pain to photograph cos its so reflective. Enjoy!

Finally decide with the black dial.
Unfortunately, the cream or champagne dial in real seems very plain even the customer beside also kay po say black is better..

Get the older explorer 2 polar. Hell of a watch for ard 6k or cheaper wihout full set. Date and gmt.

Mine. Old pic.

Hello everyone, looking to get a Rolex as a reward for myself for working hard this year, but unsure about what to get.

I have a slender wrist, so was thinking about the Explorer 2 (1 is beautiful but no date, which is a deal-breaker, was also considering the Milgauss.)

Any other suggestions for me? I'm mid-20s, mainly outdoor work (not office type).

All my existing watches are Seikos, so have no Swiss watch to speak of.

Submariner and GMT-Master 2 looks beautiful but more than my budget and also looks quite big.

Thanks everyone for their inputs! Talking about price/quality, is it "better" to get from 2nd hand sellers (watchuseek/carousell) or first-hand from ADs? Anything I should take note of for GMT 2 and Sub with Date? I am a total noob when it comes to serial no., movements, etc...

First time committing to something of this amount (other than my house and car =:p), so want to make sure I get it right.

The GMT 2 with its green hands looks really nice. Sub with Date was also one of my most envied watches since I was 18. I need a date because I reference to a date alot in my day-to-day job when I meet clients. I did try watches w/o date counters but it became too troublesome to double-check with my phone at the end of the day.

Dont have much experience with Rolex, but if you are one of those that don't mind a 2nd hand one it can save a lot of money in the long run, assuming you will have more than 1 timepiece to swap around. Some may like to get new for something mechanical as one doesnt know how previous owner took care of it. Some are sentimental and like the be the 1st and only owner, planning to keep for life.

Best if you can get from someone you know personally (which is hard), or from a reputed seller (not only honest but knows his stuff, and with a track record). Rolexes are closed casebacks, so harder to spot fakes, unless you open it.

Preferably get one with Rolex warranty still. With Rolex offering 5 years warranty (not sure if on all steel models), I would make that a priority.

Or get new from grey, which is the path I took.

i concur a used previous model explorer ii probably represents the best value for the 6k sgd price range.. i feel rolex underprices it and it looks better than the sub to me but of course that is subjective

SERIOUS ALERT !!

Everyone, please beware of this site WOWMALL. Do not order anything from them! Every day you can see their advertisement in Yahoo main page. This is a scam! All the watches advertised are genuine but what they shipped to you are back alley products which look so flimsy with stupid brands. Be warned. Anyone can suggest how to get Yahoo to stop advertising for them. Despite receiving many complaints of fake products bought from this site, (unable to post the site due to insufficient posting)
Yahoo still continue to advertise for them. How to sue Yahoo with a class action suit for damages being an accessory to a scam.

Are you going to be my polar bro as well after the ball and seiko watch?
=:p

This one too hiong..I cannot tank for now. :s13:

But I think the Explorer 1 is more my style (boring lol) instead of the 2, which I don't think I'd be able to carry off well. So I don't see myself getting it for now.

I offload mine explorer 2 full set to a shop for $5k awhile back. Mint and full set, M series with chapter ring and 3186 movement. Most of the shop was taking in around $4-$4.5k when I ask around.

Strange, I put mine up at $6k on carousell, no takers at that pricing and everyone else was low balling or performing a vanishing act or serious buyers thus end of the day, I just decided to dump it and get a Ah pek diamond dial Daytona instead. =:p
