I liked the final paragraphs of the article.

"Fine watches also imply good taste and savvy, being the preferred brands of the well-to-do and the experts.

The presumption is that if people with the means and the know-how to pick the best tickers available have opted for these ones, then they must be the crème de la crème."

Yes, somewhere along this line..

Right now, can only confirm that the rolex black sub is da most popular diver watch. Lots of fellas here have it and many ple are looking for it in the preowned market.

if you're not in a hurry no need to buy one. Rolex will always be around. And you have a nice collection anyway

You mean a watch with a wood case?

I tried doing a google search for "black wooden watch" and quite a few hits at your price range came up. They look pretty decent to me.
