I think its not really the same with Mercedes because Mercedes don't limit production artificially. They will sell you a fleet of E Class if you want to. :s13:

For Rolex, they limit production of certain models. This artificially drives up demand, and some people have the "queuing-up-must-be good-mentality", so they join the waiting list, and/or even pay premium for these models. Honestly, the movement in Rolex is almost the same across its Sub/SD/YM and DJ range, with slight variation in the GMT, Daytona, DayDate and SkyD. Who is to say a sub is better than a DJ? :s8:

In my previous post, I wrote about giving up buying these Rolex models at a premium, but to explore other brands' sports models - AP Royal Oak, GP Laureato, Piaget Polo S, Blancpain 50 Fathoms, JLC Master Control and Geophysics (not exactly sports watches, but with bracelets), and at the Daytona price, you can buy the excellent VC Overseas with 3 different straps

These watches are all priced at a discount now. I do agree that certain Rolex sports models retain value well, but if you buy at a premium, you are quite likely to lose money if you sell away in the short term, just like any other watches. And we don't buy watches because of the value, but more because we like them right :)

It's not that difficult to resist the Rolex temptation at current inflated price. Try it :D

Biggie,

thanks for sharing. What would you buy with these 3 options?

- SGD10,000
- SGD15,000
- SGD20,000

Life’s too short.

Then thats not about Life's too short. Thats about Life's too stupid.
:s13:

*take my comments with a pinch of salt. Each of us has different things that we can afford or not afford. Value of anything be it watches or cars or house, its up to individual.:)

Hi bro, yup I sincerely no clue how it works. I mean this piece I bought pre-owned dated Sep 2017 (which is 1 month old watch). Reason for panick was because I purchase directly from seller located in Europe lol.

:) Let me try ~ (assuming all new at AD factoring ADs' discount)

For S$10k, I will buy the JLC Master Control, the Grand Seiko Snowflake, Omega Globemaster. I may also consider the Datejust 41 because that piece has the 3235 movement, and is readily available with a nice discount :s13:

For S$15k, my 1st choice is the new GP Laureato, 2nd choice is Blancpain 50 fathoms, and 3rd choice is Piaget Polo S :)

For S$20k, I really can't think of anything I want to buy at this price... :(

For S$25k, my 1st choice is the Aquanaut, 2nd choice is the AP Royal Oak, 3rd choice is the new VC Overseas with the 3 straps :D

Apologies I'm not a fan of thick watches, so Speedy is out for me. Please feel free to add as I'm very sure my list is not to everyone's liking. =:p

Yes sir. Both the smooth bezel and the fluted bezel are selling at 15% discount. After discount, the fluted bezel is still slightly above 10k, but only just :D

Yes can, but I understand it is very hard to get, so this is the reason why I'm listing alternatives to the Rolex popular models. :s13:

Dear bros, I sent in my 1 month old piece sub c into rsc and tell them timing/accuracy off. They call me back in 3 hours and tell me the watch is ok, they have regulated it.
Does this mean that the watch is legit lol
Tiagong RSC very nice, if I pretend my Seiko is Rolex they will also regulate for me.
