Bought a black sub w/date walk-in while browsing around the ADs, in Dec 2016 at marginally below retail at HG. It is really luck and timing of their stock arrivng.

That shop i went few times keep say no stock.

HG i heard dec 2017 there was a restock, but i was too late and already bought mine from grey

lucky you get during 2016 easier..

I don't own a Submariner though. Prefer (and own) the GMT2c instead.

Not as flexible as the given strap. Can use hot water to fix the shape of the tropic strap and it wears well.

I agree. Buying a nice watch for yourself feels like a nice reward for working hard and being able to afford it. Bragging rights or not it doesn't matter. If you work hard to afford Grand Seiko, kudos to you. If you can only afford a Seiko, it does not make you any lesser than the guy wearing a Rolex.

Paying inflated prices, well it just makes you look like an unsavvy consumer with cash to burn.

Saw it at Bishan, the watch shop cum 4D shop just outside CPF Bishan and also at H2 Hub at Hougang Mall.

Stopped myself from buying it yesterday
