Btw, does the 017 has the creamy hour markers like the 001?

From photos, I think the colour of the hour markers are the same for both 001 & the 017, only the marker outline thickness is different. But I think cannot be 100% sure unless a side-by-side comparison is done.

Waiting for you to get the 017 & looking forward to the watch porn again.

Always felt that Submariner bracelet and glidelock are the most awesome thing but this royal oak bracelet is out of the world too! Extremely comfy and the finishing is crazy nice!

Actually no leh.
The winding is Okok only.
The time setting, the min hand tend to wobble when adjusting and closing the crown.

To be honest. I think rolex movement more refined.

AP finishing I say zai and different, a class of their own. but I think rolex is on par based on quality of finishing.

To quote gaoxing84, the movement is refined - "buttery smooth". Even winding the crown is pleasant. I think those who have had this experience would be able to tell a fake Rolex because of this factor.

I am absolutely vain and do nothing to hide the fact. Cant speak for everyone, but I believe many of us here are.

“Face” value refers to a convoluted, conferred respect, superficial and shallow though it may be. I am under 30s working in an environment dominated by peers much older than myself and what I do is simply try to fit in on a level of apprerance within the constraints of my budget. I am a pretender, but hey, once again, arent we all.

They are hustles but please dont be mistaken, I believe these watches have inherent value, conferred by demand, craftsmanship, legacy and all that marketing money. The hustle, is that they are wholly unnecessary. For instance, say one had cancer and recieved a million dollar payout, one would probably not blow the cash on a Ulysse Nardin Genghis Khan.

But I digress.. what i came here for was actually to ask my AP Royal oak buddy if his watch gets scratched super easily too... jesus im wearing lined coats in winter here and the stupid watch still gets these scratches out of nowhere.

The simple - perhaps hard - truth is that value is subjective.

There will be endless discussions on that which is perceived to be.

yea, asian/eta movement or clone movement will have this sandy feel when winding and screwing down the crown.

Hong Kong is that cold? my high of 4C if not careful also get scratches.

Lucky around me, ppl totally clueless. I not in that pretender camp today, granted when I was younger I am in that pretender camp. As one age some ppl quit that club.
