I thought the GS movements go in this order
Spring Drive 9R > Hi-Beat 9S 36k > Mechanical 9S 28k
... Quartz 9F (5 to 10 spy accuracy) is different though.

Here’s my Hi-Beat SBGJ021 (old pic)... similar to the one that you want but in red

I am reading spring drive > 9S. They cost way more and tend to be in their LE model. Moreover cheapest spring drive starting price still higher than 9S by a good usd$1k+
https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en/collections/all?year=2019%20MODELS&sort=Price:%20High%20to%20Low

Usually Pwr res but you can find no pwr res eg SBGY003

yup spring drive > mechanical 9S.

im posting sort of like from lower end to higher end so i started with 9S > SD > hi-beat.

GS is the hardest to buy, very headache due to the different sorts of combinations available. like LE, dial, movement etc.. very hard to have the best combination. there nice LE with nice dial but on 9S, or simple dial on hi-beat, really gotta depends what the end user looking for.

i read some forum mentioned hi-beat > spring drive that's why hi-beat movement watches is usually more ex than spring drive.

like a normal clean simple dial sbgh045 hibeat rrp also need $9095 comparing to a nice snowflake sbga211 rrp $8918.

but those that like clean dial, SD might not be suitable cos of the power reserve displaying on the dial. :D

nice GS in red!

Thanks bro. I know nothing much about watches except for the brand name that's all. :(
err.

ok my knowledge on GS is half past 6... but i think to make it short...

GS basically uses 3 different movement for their watches and price varies accordingly.. 9S automatic > spring drive > hi-beat. hi-beat is the top range movement for grand seiko.

then there's the movement for normal range seikos like

4R > 6R > 8R.

8R is mostly found on those higher range seiko divers like mm300.

Thanks for the info too.

Lower end to higher end?
Lowest is 9S highest is hi beat?

When I post SD > mechanical, I meant SD is greater than mechanical; that’s how I been taught how to use this > sign
